Gutting the Sacred Cow invites guests to argue why some of the most financially successful, beloved or acclaimed films are trash or overrated. But here's the twist, the film must meet 1 of these criteria: widely beloved, financial success, or critically acclaimed. Standup comedians Kevin Gootee and Kevin Israel love films and they love arguing about them.. But will they agree with their guests arguments or feed them into a wood chipper?

We give a platform with those who have unpopular opinions to be bold enough to voice them. What are some films that have faced scrutiny: Back to the Future, Goodfellas, Shawshank Redemption, the Dark Knight, Toy Story, Ferris Bueller's Day Off, the Matrix, and Die Hard. Can the guests persuade us or do we rip them a new one?

Sometimes you have to look the movies you love up close to see their blemishes. Oddly enough when you hear a classic movie diminished it actually makes you defend it in your mind and love it more. Your Favorite Movies Will Be Destroyed…And You Will Find It Hilarious

“Die Hard”. “Pretty In Pink”. “The Departed”. These are just a few of the movie that I like (or even love) that have gotten the slash and burn treatment from Kevin Gootee and his hilariously vitriolic guests and guests hosts. Dave Landau’s evisceration of “Good Will Hunting” should be required listening for anyone who thinks they are a movie critic, or has a sense of humor. I hope they never do “Blazing Saddles”, because that gutting might just cause me to light myself on fire even as I am laughing while I strike the match.

Despise people that just *love* to broadcast their contrarian views like a badge of honor, and this podcast helps me pick out those type of people pretty easily! How dare people like things! Hysterical and enjoyable

Great podcast that is easy to listen to. The two Kevins are skilled at what they do. They are sarcastic, hysterical, and actually have great takes on the movies they discuss. Their two personalities compliment each other in a way that their show never drags; even when their guests are completely unprepared. The best episodes have to be when they cover movies from the 80s and 90s as the hosts seem so in tune with the zeitgeist of the time. I listen every week and you should too!

I look forward to this podcast every week. Kevin and Kevin have done a great job honing the format and segments over the years. Their insights are hilarious. Where’s the Ray Cut?

I listen to this amazing show on Spotify but was shocked to hear that an episode with Ray Stakenas (The Who Would Win Show, Knowing Is Half The Podcast and My Three Dads) was recorded weeks ago and still hasn’t been released?? I came to Apple Podcasts with hopes that it’d be here but still couldn’t find it. This show is perfect in every way, the hosts, the guests, and the movies they talk about are always entertaining! Which is why I was really looking forward to Ray Stakenas gutting Highlander! Where is that episode!? The Kevin’s really need to #ReleaseTheRayCut

I really love this show and I even like the episodes that include movies I’ve never seen. It often helps put a lot of context to referential jokes I never understood. The format is fun, the hosts are great, I love guessing the various ratings along with the crew... My only gripe is that whatever company owns this show REFUSES to #releasetheraycut. It worked for Justice League, so I don’t see why it wouldn’t work here.

Titanic

Came her to say the guest on episode 22 about Titanic, I'm not convinced she even saw the movie lol. She couldn't answer the only question she was there to answer, why do you hate the movie? Every time she was asked she said um 15 times then have super vague answers and or dodged the question. Like the podcast but hated her vapid take on the movie but had a good time laughing at her.
