I refer back to the episodes almost every season and can’t wait for more!

Found this podcast a few years ago, and have listened to all episode multiple times. Would love some new episodes, but I understand ….work and growing families. Thank you so much for this archive.

Sadly, I suspect that you’re not making podcasts any more (since it’s been 3 months since the last one) and here I am just now discovering this exceptional podcast! Of course I’m binge listening your entire library. I’m an experienced gardener here in Bothell - NE of Seattle, and I can’t tell you how refreshing it is to listen to a gardening podcast that has so much information and advice for our very unique zone 8 climate. Cool and wet as opposed to the zone 8 that most gardeners think of; central Texas, Alabama, Louisiana etc. We have almost nothing in common (grow wise) with those areas. I hope, fingers crossed, that you start up this podcast again, I’m deep into my binge now, 2017 episodes, and I’m not looking forward to getting down to the last one. If I could give you a 10 star rating, I would.

This is a great podcast for people gardening in the northwest.

This podcast is well done and informative. I listened to a lot of the episodes in real time a couple of years ago and I still come back to it in 2021 as a great garden resource. Just overall good stuff!

I love this podcast! As a first time gardener I’ve learned so much, and I’ve even been inspired to build two more raised beds. I also bought their book, High Yield Vegetable Gardening, and it’s been a great reference.

I love the style of this podcast. It’s full of great information that you can take straight to the garden and implement. The tips will increase your success rate tremendously. I can go back through the episodes and pick a topic that relates to what I’m about to plant and I always learn something I didn’t know before. First off this podcast is super helpful and informative with bare facts. My only issue is the delivery and style of the podcast. It's clear that one person is asking questions they already know the answer to and then the second person is clearly reading straight from a script. I wish it was more "off the cuff" and genuine conversation rather than it being a scripted session, it lacks authenticity.

I’m brand NEW to gardening, and I am so glad I discovered this podcast. This is a great starting point. I love the straightforward question and answer format. I hope to apply everything I learn this year in my home garden. Thank you!

I’m learning so much and enjoying this podcast way more than I expected! It’s my new obsession and makes me super excited to get out there and try the things I’m learning about. I’m pretty sure I will be referencing a number of these episodes off and on throughout the seasons - there’s great content in the library of episodes and I can’t wait for the next season of podcasts too!

Fantastic resource - learning tool and motivator. Best listened to whilst pottering in the garden

I found the show in the second season (I think) when Kellie and Hilary would discuss a single crop: when to plant, how to care for, what pests or diseases to watch out for, when to harvest, etc. They also did a couple episodes on drip irrigation and other gardening equipment which I found super helpful in starting my own garden. Great advice and information and I really liked how Kellie would ask the questions for me as an amateur gardener. The format changed for latest season and while I still enjoy the show, I haven’t found it as helpful for my particular gardening interests.

I love this podcast! Every minute of every episode is jam packed with great information. I enjoy that they cover Q & As + episodes devoted to one particular plant. Like I said, it’s incredibly informative and I cannot wait to learn more!!!

I’m the manager for a small farm in Utah. I find this podcast really helpful. Sometimes it can be overwhelming to keep all your crops’ needs straight. This podcast is a nice review for me. Especially because I can listen to it while I’m weeding at work or just taking a bike ride with my dog. Thanks for filling my brain sponge with gardening info!

I found this podcast not too long ago and I have been listening to it any chance I get! Its so so insightful. I have absolutely no help or backround on gardening so its great to hear from people who actually know what they're talking about. Its also the easiest way for me to retain this information because I have 2 small boys and I don’t ever get the chance to sit still. I just bring my phone in my pocket with this playing everywhere I go.

I’m not a gardening novice, but I am absolutely loving the Encycolpedia Botanica podcast! From new tips and tricks to learning about other gardeners’ favorite varieties, I can’t get enough. Currently binge-listening to these episodes like a mad woman. Keep these awesome gardening podcasts coming!

I went though several podcasts before finding this one. Hilary is great, and so are the many guests she has had on the show. Very informative, and a great resource for all levels of home gardeners. In addition to the podcast there is a lot of supplemental information available on their blog and instagram. Just search for Seattle Urban Farm Co.

I would call myself an advanced beginner gardner. I started growing vegetables a few years ago. Most years, most of my crops do well, but when they don't, I have no idea why. I was looking for a podcast that was fun to listen to, well-produced and would teach me more about gardeninng. I tried a few different podcasts until I found this one. The hosts are great and the information is detailed, but accesible. I love it.

I really wanted to like this podcast. It's clear that Hilary has a lot of valuable information to share. And I did learn a lot from what she has to say. But the format, with her cohost is just so painful. It sounds like Hilary is reading the information that she shares and then her cohost never has any substantive feedback. All she really says is 'wow, that's so interesting.' I find it so annoying that I can't keep listening to the podcast even though I know there is valuable information to be learned. I wish Hilary would consider a different partner who either knows about gardening and can add to the discussion or who is new to gardening and has useful newbee questions.

So many helpful tips for my garden!

I don’t really like podcasts, so to say that I LOVE this podcast is a big deal. As a small farm owner and operator, the best part of my week is when there’s a new Encyclopedia Botanica podcast to listen to during my commute. I’ve learned so much and experienced so much growth and positive change in my garden as a result of the things I’ve learned listening. I cannot recommend it highly enough.

I love listening and talking about gardening. These are the conversations many of my firends don't want to have with me. But I love listening to even the stuff I know about as there are new perspectives that I keep learning from.

As a relatively new gardener, I am so happy that my friend recommended this podcast to me early in the growing season. I love the topics on the show, the occasional guests, and have learned SO much invaluable information from Hilary and Kellie. I also appreciate the friendly attitude of the show, and when the hosts talk about problems they've had or mistakes they've made, because one of the best things about gardening is the learning process!

I absolutely LOVE gardening, but don't know many other gardeners locally that I can ask questions! When I play this podcast with my phone/listing via headphones as I garden it feels like I am becoming SUCH a better veggie grower!! Thank you so much for creating this, it is great to hear other people obsess about gardening as much as I do and have so much great information! #Love

My husband and I lost our home in a wildfire almost two years ago and it's been a slow process of rebuilding. I decided in the meantime to really dedicate myself to our garden and there was so much I still wanted/needed to learn. Enter Encyclopedia Botanica!! I can't tell you how fun and accessible you've made this process. I look forward to your episodes every Friday and greet them with a cup of coffee and a notebook. Newbie gardener here! I built some garden beds this spring, and I've been binging on this podcast. It's informative and easy to listen to. I don't get lost in the lingo, and the weekly lessons are explained well enough, it's made this planting and harvesting process easier. Two thumbs up!

A wealth of knowledge with a fun, conversational format. Each episode focuses on a specific topic which makes it helpful to look back through the episodes later! A good length podcast packed with great tips for new and seasoned gardeners alike!

Love this podcast! Informative and super easy to understand. Organized by plant type - making it easy to go back and reference specific topics - and everything is well timed to the current growing season. Great Q&A episodes sprinkled in, too. Would love a little more information on plant-specific pests and diseases included in segments, in addition to all the great how-to information.

Hilary and Kellie are the perfect team for nearly every level gardener out there. They are engaging, knowledable about the chosen subjects, and really approachable for someone like me with just enough gardeing know-how to be dangerous. Every single episode is practical, concise, chock full of helpful tips and gardeneing secrets, and presented in such a generous way. I've listened through the enitre series twice so far while I'm working away in the beds and continue to go back and check reference points in certain episodes. Thanks, ladies!

This Is my first year gardening, and this podcast has taught me some gardening basics and has inspired ideas for future seasons. The episodes are very timely. It is great to have gardening information in an audio format so that I can enjoy my new hobby during my commute!

Encyclopedia Botanica is my secret weapon! Most people who come over can't believe I've never gardened before once they see my raised beds full of veggies, herbs and flowers. Hilary and Kellie offer their wisdom packaged up in a useful and accessible format that translates to noticeable results in the garden! On top of that they've created an amazing space in the Slack group where no question is too silly and Hilary can even diagnose your sickly looking plants using only a photo!
