I admit I miss the weekly movie review shows from growing up (Siskel and Ebert “At The Movies”, “Sneak Previews”, “Reel Talk”, etc.) Now in my 40’s I love listening to Movie Podcasts at work. “The Screening Room” Is one of the best Movie Review Podcasts around. The Hosts (Hope and George) are really big and energetic movie fans who are very smart and well reasoned in their thoughts on what they have watched and thought about a film. As well as very understanding about thoughts and opinions that run counter to their own. This understanding and acknowledgement of the complexity of what one person thinks about a film that is different than their own is the sign of a very smart intelligent film fans! Check this show out.

Bad Boys 3 has an outrageous plot but the chemistry between Martin Lawrence and Will Smith is still there.

Hope and George are warm, welcoming, and engaging as they take you through the new films out in theaters and home-viewing each week. They take the entertainment and the art form seriously, while keeping it light and fun for listeners. They treat films of all sizes, budgets, origins, perspectives, and genres with equal respect and optimism. Whether you watch movies religiously or once in a while, I highly recommend this easy and enjoyable listen.

The hosts have great chemistry, and are likable enough, but more times than not, I shake my head in frustration and wonder just what movie they watched because it definitely wasn’t the same one I saw. 🤔
