Dr. Eakins covers everything that educators of today need to know if they’re serious about making a difference in the lives of ALL children. This podcast shows how educators can break through cultural, linguistic and socioeconomic barriers to make sure that all their students leave the classroom feeling empowered and able to grasp the material. If I were a principal, I’d send episodes of this podcast to my staff on a regular basis!

This is my favorite podcast for teachers! Highly recommend for anyone looking to improve their practice. Dr. Eakins also has some excellent resources on his website. Super inspiring topics and guests who help educators see their blind spots. 💜

I can’t recommend this podcast series enough for both current and prospective educators. Thankyou so much for guiding me in my anti racism journey. I am an art teacher in a predominantly white rural school district. I feel it is imperative that my students learn to be anti-rascist citizens of the world. I have stopped while listening to make many notes because your information is so valuable.

There are so many different things that we can consume and it’s often difficult to sort the OK from the extraordinary. This is one of those great podcasts.

The Leading Equity Podcast has been one of many anti-racist podcasts I have been listening to in 2020-2021. I am an early primary school teacher in a city where we have a lot of racial and cultural diversity in the classrooms. Of all the podcasts I have subscribed to and am listening to right now, Leading Equity with Dr. Eakins is easily the most thought provoking for me personally. He chooses FANTASTIC and intentionally meaningful guests to bring onto his show that add so many layers. It would be very difficult for me to choose a favorite episode at this point, but the episodes that have stuck with me the most would have to be the episode about Girl Rising, and the episode with Dr. Randall Sampson. PLEASE give this podcast a listen!!

In general, I appreciate Dr. Sheldon Eakins’ whole child and whole community approach to equity in schools. Something for everyone, no matter where you are in your inner radicalization of self, working to dismantle the old systems of education that are standing in the way of equity.

This podcast always has great discussions. It provides educators with valuable knowledge. Dr. Eakins asks great questions and really prompts his guests to provide solutions to foster equity in schools.

Every episode challenges, engages, and changes my way of thinking. Thank you, Doc! This podcast is a must for all educators- especially white folks like me who need our perspective shifted, our vocabulary modified, and our awareness heightened. I can’t recommend this enough.

So many great ideas here! I heard some episodes awhile ago, but I just came back to it and am catching up. I love that this is shedding light on small and big problems. It’s so nice to feel like someone understands the issues in education and is willing to dig deeper than bandaid solutions. I appreciate the balance of big picture ideas and useful strategies.

If you are an educator, you need to listen to this podcast. It is full of vital information. Dr. Eakins’ website also contains a wealth of resources. He is extremely generous in sharing his knowledge and promoting the work of others.

As an equity leader in my school, I find the breadth of topics and the variety of voices that Dr. Eakins brings to us through his podcast to inspire growth in myself as an educator of both adults and children. Every podcast I listen to leaves me ready to take on new challenges and to take meaningful action. I recommend it to any educator.

There are many great episodes. The stories are really good. It is amazing to hear how these stories are connected in many ways.

This show has been a great reminder for me about the humanity of teaching. What teachers and schools do (the policies in place) make a difference (impact) the lives of the students and their families. This show helps by providing ideas for making the impact positive.

Dr. Eakins has leveraged this platform to promote deep reflection on relevant issues that are impacting so many people. He is bringing equity to the forefront of our collective consciousness through his conversations with various leaders and social justice warriors. These podcasts are a vivid reminder that Equity leaders are not alone; they are united, social justice is not just a mindset; it requires fierce action to dismantle injustice, and inequity is systemic and systematic; we must collectively threaten its existence. I highly recommend other Equity leaders to download/listen to this podcast and share with others!

Dr. Eakins does an awesome job highlighting issues that we need to focus on AND offering insights into what to do about them! I believe that supporting the variety of equity movements is an area that I need to work on and this podcast is doing a great job helping me do that!

Dr. Eakins is a skilled podcast facilitator and having had the pleasure of being interviewed by him, as well as listening to other podcase episodes, I have been thrilled with the open and transparent dialogue that is so needed in all educational settings.

It was a pleasure being on the show with Dr. Eakins. He is professional, insightful, and genuinely cares about students. I recommend everyone in education and outside of it to listen.
