Bommar1956Entertaining and InformativeThis is a great podcast. Bruce, Drew, and Mark are a great listen. I discovered them about three months ago, and have binged up to the current episodes. They make my hour drive to work fly by and I’ve picked up many great maker tips. I feel like I’m sitting in my shop listening to three old friends. You won’t go wrong spending an hour or so with them every two weeks.

hughmcmathThis is my favorite Podcast!!(Movie trailer voice, dramatic music in the background) Three guys, seemingly average Joes, except none of them are named Joe... Hard at work on the frontlines of the Unnecessary Walnut movement, fighting for the right for all walnut boards to be deemed necessary. Especially the triangle-shaped ones. These men bring us a weekly podcast where they discuss important current world events such as couch vans, zombie bees, and lasers. From their beautifully crafted woodwork to their interesting, colorful conversations, these gentlemen bring something every week for just about everybody. Joking aside, this is a great show! The guys are very talented and they have great conversations. Once I heard one episode, I had to go back and listen to them all because they’re just so fun to listen to! I definitely recommend this podcast to anyone, but especially to people that have any inclination toward woodworking, making things, and comedy. If you haven’t already, you should check it out! And their individual YouTube channels are great too!

brewerpopGreat Podcast!I started following this about a year ago, have caught up on all of the past episodes and am now a Patreon supporter! Always good conversation and content and something I really look forward to each week.

Singleton WoodcraftLike hanging out with friendsI got into this podcast because I thought it was about woodworking. While there is some woodworking talk, I feel like I’m hanging out with friends listening. Mark, Drew, and Bruce give insights to their businesses, talk about being dads, woodworking techniques, any many more things. Any reviews that talk about malicious intent are way off base. These guys are genuine and down to earth.
-
JDR-07Great Show!Love listening to Drew, Mark and Bruce as they chat about everything and nothing! These down to earth guys can cover the movements of an armidillo to the use of unnecessary walnut to really great advice done in a genunine way. Wait for the 'laser update!' Thank you for providing content which gets me home from work, and all the jokes - Regards - a former freeloader (yes I do love the joke Mark! But just in case..... can I get off the list now :)!)

Logisticus92Episode 112Love the podcast! When Drew told his story about the black flakes coming off of his headphones I couldn’t help but laugh because mine are doing the same thing. When I told my wife the story she started laughing before I finished, turns out I had black flakes on my temple. Glad I wasn’t being recorded for a video! Keep up the good work, I look forward to the show each week. Big fan, Brad H

Jon_MacIWhite SupremacyGunflint designs says he makes and sells items that support white Supremacy and hate speech. The slogan “Don’t tread on me” has been adopted by white supremacy as their own. The slogan “Go Brandon” is widely considered Hate Speech. This podcast can no longer considered a wholesome family podcast that I could enjoy with my family. PS. There should be someway you can write a review without having to give any stars.

Jackaustin13Worth Listening To:I have been listening to you all for a while, and have been following your YouTube channels even longer. I’m truly appreciate your good and clean humor. I listen to guys when I am working in my garage, doing hobby woodworking. I have been a police officer for almost 17 years and woodworking is my escape from that world. You guys have become a vital part of how I cope during tough days, and I truly appreciate you for it. You may not know the impact you have on others, but I thought I’d share a glimpse on how you impact my life. Keep it up! You guys are great, and hope to meet you all some day in person. -Block Cop

HikerTrash79Dry Humor, Dad Jokes and Unnecessary WalnutThese guy are awesome…just the right mix of dry humor, dad jokes, unnecessary walnut, and sometimes the occasional woodworking tip. I’ve been binging the podcast while working on my own projects and they absolutely make the time fly by. Keep up the great work!

Estarnes3Great Show!Have absolutely enjoyed listening to Mark, Drew, and Bruce’s content. Being a Dad, woodworker, outdoorsman I have always easily related to their content. They have even read each question that I have sent them and given great feedback to help me complete my projects. Would give more stars if I could.

Castle173Woodworking, Life and Armadillos!Absolutely love this podcast! These guys keep you entertained for the whole time! If you think “oh Talking about woodworking for an hour could get boring!” You are wrong! They cover everything from building to an Armadillo feud all the way to a couch van! R-Mac78Great InformationI recently shared this show on my Instagram (@SouthernRootsCW) because this show has been a great resource for me in building my small business and trying to get my YouTube channel started. I grew up loving to make and fix stuff. Hearing these three guys chat about what they’re going through and their experiences, eases my mind that the situations I face have been experienced by others, and how they work through issues. Check this podcast out now!

EODoutdoorsMy new favorite podcastI know I am late to the party... I initially started watching Drew’s videos and in the one where he gifts the push sticks at Workbench Con I heard about the Podcast. I listen to a lot of podcasts because I drive a lot for work so I am always down for a new one. I can not really express into words how much I enjoy We Built A Thing! It’s a smattering of so many different topic. You can hear everything from making things to armadillo stories, to life updates. It all just has flowed so well together. I have started listening from episode 1 working my way towards the present. And the stories and stuff builds on one another so smoothly. This show introduced me to Mark and Bruce and I love their channels too. To break it down simply, it’s three buds just chatting about life in general and just having great conversations. Thank you guys for great content. I HIGHLY recommend giving We Built a Thing a listen if you haven’t already! Easiest 5 stars ever!!

SuperfluousWW5.1 Stars! 👍🏼Always good fun and great format! As far as the TWO STAR review goes, keep in mind the reviewers name is whoisdave. Can’t expect to know a good podcast if you don’t even know yourself. Keep ‘em coming gentlemen. LOVE it then BAN it!!
-
WhatsNotUsedAlreadyA good all around podcastAfter watching several of the YouTube videos made by the show hosts I was able to find this podcast. So I knocked into my neighbors WiFi and started downloading episodes. This feels like talking to friends and I enjoy the tips.
-
whoisdaveEarly on it was woodworking, it seems they’ve lost focus. In recent episode they were talking fantasy ideas. “You only get two types of joinery: pocket screws or dowels.” Or, “What would you do if there was no glue?” Seriously? Tell me how we will improve our making by hearing you blather on about make believe scenarios? And there was sheet rock. I’m pretty sure the Sheet Rockers of America aren’t tuning in for advice. And the stuff about how to get more “clicks,” followers and make more money on social. Most listeners want to learn about MAKING, not about getting clicks. Here’s a hint: PRODUCE GOOD CONTENT. I’ll return when I hear elsewhere that you are. Good luck.

woodland workersEntertaining and informative!I love the perspective they give. They discuss current projects, tips and techniques, keeping me motivated to get in my shop.

GtownGeorgeA Great “FUN” Woodworking PodcastI found this podcast about two years ago. Just want to say THANKS for keeping this podcast going. It’s refreshing to listen to woodworkers that can have lots of fun and produce awesome wood projects. I’ve bought plans from Fisher, used “unnecessary walnut” from Mark, and Bruce inspired me to make my first cutter board. The three of you add a little different element to the show which makes it the best woodworking podcast.
-
tw.woodworkingGreat Show, Genuine DudesI started listening to this show recently after hearing about these guys on the Another Woodshop Podcast podcast. These guys are knowledgable, easy to listen to, and they seem like genuinely good guys. Very relatable with the projects they're working on. Keep up the good work guys! - TW Woodworking

Full Steam DesignsAwesome! My new favorite podcast!
-
Brent JarvisThey make it sound easy!!Sometimes you have that moment when you realize that some people just make it all seem so easy. If you’re looking for the bottom line of how “easy” woodworking really is you’ve found the right podcast. These guys are the most nonchalant laid back group of Woodworkers that just make iron on live edge banding seem easy. The amount of easy listening bottom line information you get from this podcast is unmatched! Thank you guys for the great podcast and hours of easy listening!
-
jkcanvasGreat PodcostAlways feels like we are sitting at the kitchen table drinking coffee and chatting. Love the format and conversation. Cheers Will

Q134.asfhtEntertaining and well produced podcastThis podcast has become one of my favorites. To be perfectly honest, my initial expectations of a woodworking centric podcast had me thinking it might be a little dull and one dimensional but after listening to several episodes I am quite pleased to say this transcends the woodworking topic altogether. Woodworking is the back drop but the content delivered is far more than just that. The hosts have great chemistry with each other and share so many honest moments about family, friends, hobbies, mistakes made, successes, things that motivate them as well as several humorous stories. It has a great “hanging out” vibe that is sure to keep the audiences attention. Bravo!
-

The Tennessee TinkererAwesome podcast! This is my favorite podcast. I’ve been following these guys on YouTube for a while, but I’m new to the whole podcast game. I love the stories and conversations, and as a fellow content creator, I soak up all their wisdom and advice. Thanks guys!
-
The Wood VictorDevin RichterWhat do you get when you combine three talented woodworkers who share a hatred for armadillos and squirrels? Bruce, Drew, and Mark’s natural chemistry combine to create a podcast with a natural conversation flow that keeps you wanting more. Not only are all three talented woodworkers and makers, they do a bang up job telling stories. My only advice would be a possible name switcharoo...maybe the Armadillo Annihilators or the Squirrel Sequesters....just a thought.
-
Pmdc819Love the showIn reference to the T-shirt thing. I’m down for a shirt or stickers.
-
BasurmanGreat Conversation!!I truly enjoy the natural flow and seemingly easy conversations that are in the podcast. I listen to way to many podcasts and this one is becoming one of my favorites and I look forward to listening every time I see it show up in my feed.
-
Professor FredAve a chat with your buddiesI’ve been watching Drew’s YouTube videos for a few years and love his humor and the approachability of his projects. He, Mark, and Bruce have great conversations about building projects, families, and friendship. Often humorous; sometimes thought provoking; always enjoyable. I highly recommend you listen to these three friends chatting.
-
BrycerickGreat Start So FarI really like the different format these guys are using compared to other maker podcasts, with a much more conversational tone and laid back approach. Can’t wait for more episodes.
