H.Bird HThis podcast is a giftThis review is long overdue, I’ve been listening for about five years and I’m so grateful for the stories and perspectives shared here. If you’re an artist and a parent you will get a lot out of hearing how other folks make it happen and what becomes important in the balance.
-
BrookebschultzThis is the perspective we all want!Love this podcast and the thoughtful questions with incredible artists who are also balancing caregiving. The caregiving is often so invisible and I really appreciate the way this podcast shines a light on it acknowledging caregivers as whole people with desires and interests of their own. Listen immediately!!

idahoartistmomLove!!I am an artist/mother who really only has time to listen to podcasts when I am in the studio and this is one of my favourites while I am working! Thank you!
-
YaaaaaaYaaaaaaYaaaaInspiring!I am new to this podcast and so glad I found it! As a mother, teacher, and artist who currently started grad school I find these talks encouraging and inspiring. Thank you!
-
EPSArtsMore Artist Mother!I love this podcast so much. I look forward to hearing the many ways in which we create and parent. It’s refreshing to hear about the struggles we all face as parents through the lens of art. Artist mother has been inspiring me since 2019.
-
AudA.LifesavingAs a female artist and mom of two this podcast made me feel seen and supported more time than I’d like to admit. I love all the tools, advice and honest conversations. It’s truly refreshing.
-
Rose1092Thanks for this podcast!I’m not a mom, but I am a female artist and I freaking love your podcast! It feels natural and conversational, but you plan so well for each episode. I especially love your emphasis on using social media as a business tool with TONS of boundaries so it doesn’t rule your life. Thank you!

Jenjen1211Can’t Live Wothout It!I’ve been listening to this podcast since it started and I’m so glad I just happened to stumble upon it when I did. Kaylan’s interviews with artists have inspired me like none other. I’ve found so many of my favorite artists through these conversations. But also, I’ve found that the entire Artist/Mother community is amazing and so supportive. I’ve gone on to support just about everything A/M touches. Give it a listen. You will love it!

🥺😆😃😄😇For moms by momsI friend suggested I listen to his show a few years back and immediately a faithful listener I became. My favorite part about this show is that Kalyan and the artists touch on making art and running an art business equally. And as a mother! What I mean is, the workings of art business aren’t shied from here, and at the same time the central theme is why/how/who are you as an artist. The show primarily covers visual artists, especially painters. I would love to hear from more interdisciplinary artists who do sound work, video, performance etc.

adia snakeSo inspirational and amazing all in allI’m short of words to describe how much I love this podcast. It has given me so much energy and has made me conquer some of my fears as I start my art journey. Thank you to Kaylan for making this podcast happen and to all the artist/mother podcast participants thank you for sharing your stories and encouraging/inspiring us many of us along the way! ❤️

EmaPaintsEncouraging & DiverseThe podcast started months after I became a mother, struggling with this question of being an artist and a mother somehow with few examples I could think of. This podcast has become a community of encouraging diverse ideas, styles, and backgrounds. I look forward to hearing every week!

Pamela J. BlackInspiring & EmpoweringThis podcast is just what I needed as an artist and mother to two young children. I love listening to these inspiring stories and enjoy hearing how other artist mothers make it all work while pursuing their art. Thank you, Kaylan, for all of your hard work and for bringing something to our community that was seriously lacking and needed!

Alice Stone-CollinsRight for anyone.Such a positive podcast whether you are a creative future mother, a creative in the trenches mother or a creative empty nester mother. And after my last listen of the most recent episode, I’m actually convinced this podcast can be for anyone who has ever had to nurture or care for anyone other than themselves. Such a beautiful job of showing the complexities and inclusiveness of motherhood and all that entails over so many walks of life. So happy to have found this podcast.

The guests she invites dive deeply into their art processes and always open up so many inspiring ideas for me and spur me on to make sure I prioritize my art work. It validates my life as a full time artist AND a mom, as well as my ups and downs with both!

Robin DiniGreat for community developmentI listened to this after finding it on Instagram. Very good podcast. Not a lot of banter. The host is fantastic and stays on topic and keeps the conversation flowing. Great great listen.
-
KittieBeaLGreat resource!A great resource for busy parents looking for support to stay connected to their art practices (or start on the creative path) as they raise children.
-
Marisa PaolucciTHESE ARE MY PEOPLE!Kaylan does an amazing job at interviewing artists at all different levels in their art careers. The common thread amongst these artists is that they are also juggling and interweaving their role as mother with their art. As a struggling mom and artist myself, this podcast has been a godsend. It serves as a weekly source of inspiration and encouragement, and it is a much needed community and voice that should be heard in the art world.
-
HeatherK ArtistSo encouragingI love to hear how other creative mamas are making it work!!

merewalk90A must-subscribe for every. single. mother/artist!As a new artist (and a new mom) this podcast has been such an encouragement to me! The interviews are each so diverse but have the common thread of artist/mother that make you feel like you’re not alone in your crazy juggling act!

MongmediaHappy to Find Encouraging VoicesIt's great to hear so many complex and nuanced stories of artist mothers and know there is a great community to potentially connect to. What a relief, honestly, to be able to share in this particular kind of journey with such grounded, inspiring, and honest voices.

Xylem ArtistGrateful ListenerBeing a mom and being an artist are 2 roles that can be extremely isolating if I don’t actively seek out connections. Listening to the stories and lives of other artist mothers has been validating and humbling in the best way. Thank you to all who make this possible, I’m so grateful!

Ashley App ReviewsLove this.I love this podcast and wait for it each week. At the least, it's full of interesting new artists to explore, but it's so much more as I hear their diverse life experiences, find moments of inspiration and validation for my own practice and life as an art-mom, and think about all of the insights they share. Kaylan is a lovely host with a calming voice and presence that I find so nice to hear while I'm working. Can't wait to hear so many more.
-
artist drhcCreating a communityI just discovered this podcast and I can’t get enough. I feel connected to these moms as a new mom myself and really get a lot out of hearing their perspectives as I begin to understand my life in this new phase. Thank you for introducing me to a new community of artist/mothers.
-
Mandi AntonucciLove this podcast!I just stumbled upon Artist Mother Podcast last night and have already listened to 3 episodes while stealing time in my studio before my kids got up. I just wanted to say I love what you are creating here and it’s so important as an artist mom to hear the stories of others - makes me feel like I’m united in this sometimes mess of dual roles. So, thank you!
-
Kristin CronicJust what I neededI’m loving your podcast. You are an excellent host as well- asking great questions and the conversations are gentle and lovely to listen to. It’s inspiring me in my own motherhood/studio practice as I navigate this journey!! Both are unpredictable and it’s wonderful to hear the stories of modern women who are wandering through it with me.

LH StudioHonest. Fun. Smart and BeautifulThere are few things that are as life-affirming as when you feel like someone “gets you”. That is what this podcast does for Mommies who feel like a studio day is just as rejuvenating as a spa day! Artist/mother podcast is honest, fun, smart, and beautiful.
-
EllenRivedalInspiring & Relatable!I have thoroughly enjoyed following this podcast from day one. It just so happened that the week before it launched I had made the decision to step down from my my job and stay home with my then 5 month old daughter. I had been a shop owner and art teacher and slowly but surely gave each job up during my pregnancy and the following months after her birth. I have been so encouraged by these weekly interviews, learning from all you Artist/Mother’s and being reassured that I am on the right track! What fun conversations you are putting together Kalyan! Thanks!

Khlemc0002438Turns out you're not alone! Here, have an audio scone. This podcast is like someone showing up and handing you a scone that's still warm from the oven when you're in the swampy haze of one an existential artist/mother crises. You thought you were alone in the world with your kids and your blank canvas? You're not! This podcast is unpretentious, simple and direct. Which is exactly the kind of audio friend I need for this phase of life. So glad to have discovered it.

D WeynaMy Monday JamI love Mondays so much more now that this podcast exists. The conversations are always honest, refreshing and engaging. I have literally stopped working and danced around my studio in sheer joy listening to other artist-mothers sharing their truth. I have heard my own feelings and voice echoed in the stories of these other women. It makes me feel not so isolated and insecure about sharing my own work...and shows how connected we all are/can be through this platform of communication. Thank you Kalyan for giving this podcast so much of your time and energy and creating this wonderful artist/mother community. Keep it up!!
-
KCFineArtJust the bestI have been loving these podcasts and can’t wait for each new episode. When I get distracted by everyday mom life, they give me inspiration to refocus. I am still in the full time caregiver stage, with littles, so life can feel like drowning... swimming in all the glory of motherhood... but drowning no less. This podcast helps keep my passion as an artist afloat with it all!
-

ElisabethRayInspiring and realI’m not an artist but I am a working, creative mother. Kaylen has a calm and peaceful presence that is so soothing to listen to. Her questions are insightful and I love hearing how mothers in different stages of life create space for their artwork and navigate the tricky balance of being a mother. All in all one of my favorite listens.
-
emilyfeaginwillEncouraging and nourishingI have enjoyed every second of listening to these artist/mothers share their stories. I have been comforted and challenged by the example of these women and all I want to do is paint after I listen. I even listen while I paint. Thank you for such an invaluable resource!
-

Lauren ZookGratefulI recently discovered this podcast and it has become a rich source of encouragement and motivation for me. I became a mother fresh out of college while simultaneously moving states away from family and friends. I now have a three year old and 9 month old, and am fighting to remain committed to art-making, even when the goals I once had seem far out of reach these days. I’m not where I want to be, but this podcast is creating such a strong network of women who are exactly where I am trying to figure out the next steps, encouraging and bolstering one another in the messy process of motherhood and art-making, while also listening in on some brilliant conversations about art. I’m so grateful to have found this community, and thank you to Kaylan for creating this beautiful, valued work in addition to your own visual art and motherhood journey!
-
AmberrrrrrrinaSuch a refreshing, validating podcastThis is such a simple yet powerful thing - listening to the stories of mother artists from all situations, and being encouraged and enlightened just by hearing that other people do it too. The questions dig deep, the conversations feel honest and relatable, and I find myself shouting “YES!!” in the car as I listen while I drive. I have felt so understood, so validated, and so educated and inspired by this podcast. I am eternally grateful for it.
-
BalognasandwichLove the podcastLove the podcast. Hearing from other artists helps me to not feel alone, see many different paths, and ways to balance everything.
-
E.ErosFinally! So glad to finally find a podcast like this. The artist mother relationship is often verbally neglected. It’s suppressed or something women are made to feel makes them “less”. I’m loving listening to other mamas doing it... and being ok talking about it. Looking forward to more episodes!
-
BR1212Love listening while I create! This has become my go to podcast to listen to while I paint. As a new mom and emerging artist it has been so inspiring to hear from other artists who make art work while also mothering. Definitely recommend to all artist mothers!
-
peculiarprintrovertBeautiful PodcastI’m really enjoying the podcast so far! I love to listen to artist interviews while I’m painting and I was just running out of listening material when I discovered this! I especially liked the episode with Jamie. I can resonate with her on so many levels when it comes to being a busy mom and trying to make time for your work; real time that you can just soak in it and forget the rest of the world for a bit.
