This review is long overdue, I’ve been listening for about five years and I’m so grateful for the stories and perspectives shared here. If you’re an artist and a parent you will get a lot out of hearing how other folks make it happen and what becomes important in the balance.

Love this podcast and the thoughtful questions with incredible artists who are also balancing caregiving. The caregiving is often so invisible and I really appreciate the way this podcast shines a light on it acknowledging caregivers as whole people with desires and interests of their own. I friend suggested I listen to his show a few years back and immediately a faithful listener I became. My favorite part about this show is that Kalyan and the artists touch on making art and running an art business equally. And as a mother! What I mean is, the workings of art business aren’t shied from here, and at the same time the central theme is why/how/who are you as an artist. The show primarily covers visual artists, especially painters. I would love to hear from more interdisciplinary artists who do sound work, video, performance etc.

I’m short of words to describe how much I love this podcast. It has given me so much energy and has made me conquer some of my fears as I start my art journey. I'm pregnant with my 2nd and have been feeling a lot of anxiety around how my career will change with the baby coming knowing what I went through last time. I've been searching for role models who are both artists & mothers who have continued working depsite the challenges and I'm so happy I found this podcast!! I LOVE Kalyan’s warm, art-focused talks with amazing artists who are also moms. The guests she invites dive deeply into their art processes and always open up so many inspiring ideas for me and spur me on to make sure I prioritize my art work. It validates my life as a full time artist AND a mom, as well as my ups and downs with both!

I wish I had this podcast when I was pregnant and freaking out how I would make it all work. It is calming, funny, and inspirational. So happy to find this gem!

A great resource for busy parents looking for support to stay connected to their art practices (or start on the creative path) as they raise children.

Kaylan does an amazing job at interviewing artists at all different levels in their art careers. The common thread amongst these artists is that they are also juggling and interweaving their role as mother with their art. As a struggling mom and artist myself, this podcast has been a godsend. It serves as a weekly source of inspiration and encouragement, and it is a much needed community and voice that should be heard in the art world.

As a new artist (and a new mom) this podcast has been such an encouragement to me! The interviews are each so diverse but have the common thread of artist/mother that make you feel like you’re not alone in your crazy juggling act!

I have thoroughly enjoyed following this podcast from day one. It just so happened that the week before it launched I had made the decision to step down from my my job and stay home with my then 5 month old daughter. I had been a shop owner and art teacher and slowly but surely gave each job up during my pregnancy and the following months after her birth. This podcast is like someone showing up and handing you a scone that's still warm from the oven when you're in the swampy haze of one an existential artist/mother crises. You thought you were alone in the world with your kids and your blank canvas? You're not! This podcast is unpretentious, simple and direct. I love Mondays so much more now that this podcast exists. The conversations are always honest, refreshing and engaging. I have been loving these podcasts and can’t wait for each new episode. When I get distracted by everyday mom life, they give me inspiration to refocus. I am still in the full time caregiver stage, with littles, so life can feel like drowning... swimming in all the glory of motherhood... but drowning no less. This podcast helps keep my passion as an artist afloat with it all!

I’m not an artist but I am a working, creative mother. Kaylen has a calm and peaceful presence that is so soothing to listen to. Her questions are insightful and I love hearing how mothers in different stages of life create space for their artwork and navigate the tricky balance of being a mother. I recently discovered this podcast and it has become a rich source of encouragement and motivation for me. I became a mother fresh out of college while simultaneously moving states away from family and friends. I now have a three year old and 9 month old, and am fighting to remain committed to art-making, even when the goals I once had seem far out of reach these days. I’m not where I want to be, but this podcast is creating such a strong network of women who are exactly where I am trying to figure out the next steps, encouraging and bolstering one another in the messy process of motherhood and art-making, while also listening in on some brilliant conversations about art. I’m so grateful to have found this community, and thank you to Kaylan for creating this beautiful, valued work in addition to your own visual art and motherhood journey!

This is such a simple yet powerful thing - listening to the stories of mother artists from all situations, and being encouraged and enlightened just by hearing that other people do it too. The questions dig deep, the conversations feel honest and relatable, and I find myself shouting “YES!!” in the car as I listen while I drive. I have felt so understood, so validated, and so educated and inspired by this podcast. I am eternally grateful for it.

This has become my go to podcast to listen to while I paint. As a new mom and emerging artist it has been so inspiring to hear from other artists who make art work while also mothering. Definitely recommend to all artist mothers!

I’m really enjoying the podcast so far! I love to listen to artist interviews while I’m painting and I was just running out of listening material when I discovered this! I especially liked the episode with Jamie. I can resonate with her on so many levels when it comes to being a busy mom and trying to make time for your work; real time that you can just soak in it and forget the rest of the world for a bit.
