    Dude’s Cool.
Thinking through hands is something I need to do better. I play online and I make quick decisions. Playing live I toss garbage too quick. Easy to know what I have because I snap to attention. “BIG HAND HERE”

The best poker Podcast out there
Charlie is a remarkable story teller, and poker player. His podcast gives an inside look into the mind of a top live cash game poker player in modern day Los Angeles. Aside from the hand histories taken from some of Los Angeles’ largest public cash games; my personal favorite aspect of the podcast is the hosts’ commentary on current events inside the poker world. Hearing the unbiased, and at times, unfiltered opinions in regards to current events is refreshing and uncommon in the poker podcast space. I recommend any one with an interest in live cash game poker go back and listen to the full catalogue in its entirety.

Great podcast about life and learning
It just so happens that the podcast is poker centered but it’s more about maximizing your life’s experience. I started with the most recent podcasts and after listening to the last 10 or so I decided to go back and start with the first one. I’m happily working my way through them. Very enjoyable. Thanks, Charlie! Wishing you well on the felt and everywhere else.

    Great show
One of the best poker podcasts out there. Charlie does a great job discussing the intricacies of grinding medium stakes and breaks down hands in a thought provoking way.

    Absolutely delightful
This is one of my favorite poker podcasts. I’m surprised it took so long for me to find it. Maybe put “Poker” in the title some how to help it appear when users are searching for poker podcasts. That might help the recommendation algorithm too. Keep up the great work and thank you.

    Awesome Storyteller
“Your correspondent” truly has a gift of words and storytelling. The episodes are secretly addictive and can’t get myself to take a break from listening.

Sober essays on the state of poker
This is an excellent series of essays on a player’s experience in navigating and analyzing the world of poker. The preparation and delivery of each episode is impeccable. I just binge-listened to all 40 episodes currently published and am looking forward to hearing more.

Intelligent, reflective, and at times poetic
This is a realistic, well-articulated journey through what it is like to be a professional poker player. He refers to himself as “your correspondent” in the podcast descriptions, which reflects a kind of old-school journalistic approach. The show ranges from self-critical and instructive hand histories, to thoughtful commentaries on the state of the game, to effective interview segments which are conversational and fun to to listen to. There’s a level of candor that’s missing from much of the poker scene. Anyone who is serious about becoming a better player will benefit immensely, but perhaps just as important is the host’s reality-based depiction of the world of poker, and what is like to be a pro or serious recreational player. This strikes as the kind of podcast that could fade out quickly if there’s not a reasonable amount of positive reinforcement, so I very much hope others will listen and review as well. I say that because it’s easy to tell that the very act of creating the show is emotionally challenging, because a significant amount of self-scrutiny is brought to bear. I learned of this podcast when the host was a commentator on “Live at the Bike” recently. His commentary itself was a tour-to-force, and an immense contrast to the ridiculous bloviating that is often heard on live streams. On the stream in question, the host/commentator faced a very challenging situation involving a female player who was behaving bizarrely so as to draw immense attention to her physical features, including literally removing items of clothing at the table. With one wry exception, he mightily refrained from any tinge of sexism and kept the stream on track. His performance got my attention, and I’m glad I learned about this pod.

A thoughtful exploration of professional poker
I stumbled across this my chance and have been richly rewarded for that good fortune by getting to hear a thoughtful and intelligent conversation about a wide range of poker topics. A nice blend of hand reviews, interviews and personal poker reflections this podcast is truly a hidden gem and well worth a listen

    Lingering questions...
Please explain the title. Is it a reference to table seating, third off the button, or third to play after an actor? Or, is a reference to dead man walking? Fascinating, but a sad commentary on Gen X. Art is a hobby, an academic minor. This is the only podcast devoid of sponsors; get one. Delve more into personality types, compile anecdotes and you’ll have a screenplay. Your insight about the faddish nature of players is interesting. Build there. Who are the winners? Rebel types with no obligations to family? Questioners who spot and exploit anomalies? Use this time to develop characters; you can contrive a plot line later.

    Fantastic real portrayal of poker

New poker podcast is a breath of fresh air.
Excellent audio production quality. Podcaster is a great storyteller and I really felt like we were just joining him on this journey. We are given some insights into the grinder lifestyle rather than just being another strategy podcast trying to rope us into buying a coaching membership.
