Love the story and the delivery so really am enjoying it. However the one thing that doesn’t lie well is that the producer uses very soft language to describe this disgusting act. Words like violation and abuse undermine the act of rape and actual bodily harm, plus much much more for these poor victims.

This podcast highlights an area of reproductive health rarely discussed openly, infertility. It’s a flashback to the 1980’s when the stigma of infertility was far greater, to the extent that many children born using in-vitro fertilisation (IVF) were never told of their origin. This was also a time of apparent relaxed rules, regulations, and oversight surrounding artificial insemination. We found the storytelling wasn’t gripping, and as is with most true crime podcasts, the ending is not tied up in a pretty bow. If anything, the podcast was informative about the lack of protection and legal recourse available to hold predator doctors, like Jan Karbaat, accountable. As women, it left us frustrated and disappointed about how women’s reproductive health continues to be a low-priority in not only America but across the developed world. What a great story! Not too drawn out, definitely keeps you interested. Super glad she was able to get one of the mothers voices in this podcast, definitely makes this story hit home.

This is just mind blowing to me! Being a woman who faced infertility and visited a doctor to help my husband and I conceive, I can’t begin to imagine the pain and betrayal these families have felt after this discovery. Great research and content.

Excellent podcasting, this emotional story is told with a lot of class, not tabloid style sensationalism, it really tells the stories of these narcissistic egomaniac doctors who abuse their power.

I think this was full of great reporting except the super donor episode where are you clearly missed the mark on asking the obvious question as to why the donor was fit to be a donor considering the reason he was donating in the first place.

Listened to this during lockdown not a normal subject for me but I had time. This was extremely professionally done and the reporter cannot be credited enough. Raised a lot of very interesting issues. Close to be podcast of the year very very well done.

Listening to this on my walks. Totally engrossed in the story. Can’t wait to listen to each episode. What a dreadful doctor; families will be haunted by him forever.

Interesting story but all the content could fit into one episode. A bit sensationalized.

It’s very well produced. It is not too dark even though it is a show about purposeful medical malpractice. I’d say it’s the perfect pandemic listen for anyone into medical/true crime but wanting something a bit less intense due to all the stress. It has lots of feel good moments even though the story is crazy!

I’ve been looking for podcasts to help me get through the working from home and isolation. I’ve tried quite a few and I listened to all these episodes through consecutively. Worth a listen.

Can’t wait for more. The narrator is awesome and extremely easy to follow and easy to visualize the story.

This story is crazy! Only one episode so far but the storyline is laid out in a very clear way that is easy to follow. I look forward to hearing the rest of the episodes and wish the best for all the children (who are now adults) navigating this difficult situation!
