    Useful info and entertaining too!
Very useful for the DIY investor. I’ve gotten several actionable tips and explanations on different investment vehicles. Plus the knitty gritty of rebalancing. Making my job of managing my own portfolio easier. Well worth the listen. He also gives link to portfolio tools on other websites.

Great content and information with observations and some nostalgic humor along the way.
Hi Frank and Mary. Thank you both for the 400+ shows and counting. Along for the ride, the knowledge gain, the investing checkpoint/correction and the times when Mary cracks and laughs(love it!). Keep up the great work and I’ll be sending in some questions soon. Cheers!

    Thanks!
I am still in the asset accumulation phase, but looking forward to the time I can tinker with the allocation of my portfolio when winning the game is in sight. Thanks Frank, you, Mary, the listeners questions, and the show are top drawer, really top drawer!

    Best personal investment podcast
Perhaps the best podcast on investing out there. A crash course on all things investing intertwined with a humorous delivery and funny soundbites! Thank you Frank for guiding us through the perilous waters of investing.

    great information!
    Worth a listen!

Great content, but almost unlistenable due to the overuse of sound bites.
Dial back the use of sound clips. I can see using it here or there for levity but the overuse makes this podcast very difficult to listen to. Happy to give it a 5 if you can PLEASE dial down the use of clips literally EVERY MINUTE.
  • DT Invest
    Sound bites don’t help
The over the top usage of sound bites distracts from anything else going on. Too much focus on highly risky investments that are not diversification, it’s speculation.

    Great info!
You either love Frank or you hate him. He’s a no-nonsense, don’t-pull-any-punches kind of guy, but he definitely knows his stuff. Took me a while to get used to the sound clips but now I enjoy them. I listen to every episode.

Too distracting. Feel dumber after listening
The content of this podcast seems ok, perhaps even helpful, but the sound bites are immensely distracting. If you’re looking to be entertained like a 10 year old child with ADHD would enjoy, this podcast may be for you.

    Stop With The Obnoxious Soundbites!
I’ll change to 5 stars if you do!

    Decent investing advise, poor delivery
Unfortunately, this is a decent podcast paired with an insufferable delivery method. ironically, quite the uncorrelated parity!

    This is a great podcast
I know some people are complaining about all the sound bites (which aren’t present in earlier episodes) but the content here is fantastic. As someone who wants to be a DIY investor and gain an understanding of asset classes, portfolios, etc I have found it super-helpful. I’ve even learned to laugh at the sound bites and can be seen laughing like a complete goof on my long walks. Thanks so much for this, Frank and YOU have a gambling problem!

Sound bites seriously distracting and annoying
I heard this show had good content but couldn’t get past all of the repetitive sound bites thrown in. If the content is good, the audience doesn’t need to hear a bunch of random sounds spliced in. Can you please just talk?
  • Gdhjejejnd
    Unbelievably obnoxious
Every epipsode would be about 5 minutes if he didn’t insist on constantly interrupting the content with random audio clips. It could be a good podcast if it wasn’t completely unlistenable.

    Probably Good Info Somehwere
Awful and distracting sounds and sound bytes ruin what is probably good information. Sounds like it’s edited by a 12 year old gamer. Not listenable - gave up after three episodes. Highly recommend to wannabe podcasters on a lesson on what NOT to do.

Great insights, especially for deaccumulation period
This content is great for those who are retiring, retiring early, semi retitring or living on a fixed income. Also good for saving long term. Frank is quirky. First I learned to get used to all the souond clips from days gone by and now I love hem.
  • IAmBanksy
    Obnoxious soundboard
There's probably some decent information buried in these podcasts, but the obnoxious overuse of soundboards makes it unlistenable. Is this early 2000's talk radio or a financial podcast?
  • I am so SMRT
    Good content, but unlistenable
The sound bites and sound effects absolutely kill what would otherwise be a good podcast. They ruin the flow and distract from the useful info.

Eye-opening insight. Definitely worth a listen. Start from episode 1.

    Top portfolio Construction Podcast
Educational, informative, thought provoking and entertaining - great semi-weekly podcast.

    Want a better SWR?
Look folks, this is conservative investing. The goal of Risk Parity Radio is not to make you rich, it’s to design a portfolio that lets you safely take out more than the 4% rule would allow in retirement. It will challenge what you know about retirement investing and that’s a good thing. Bonus: sound effects are addictive and the host is named after a hot dog.
  • Boomdaddy3
    Da’ bomb!
I stumbled across this podcast and have enjoyed every single episode. Well it can be challenging to fall the seemingly endless stream of performance numbers, Frank’s thorough and detailed analysis of the sample risk parity portfolios is excellent. In addition, his discussions and reviews of different asset classes provide a great education to those who are interested. I love this podcast and I’ve been bingeing it since discovery.
  • Surfdog75
Frank makes me wish I were smarter.
I’ve been listening to Risk Parity Radio almost since the beginning and I’ve learned a ton. Frank is able to impart complex topics and make them understandable. A fantastic teacher. I’ve been interested in finance for a long time but this is an area of investing that I hadn’t really been exposed to before. Thank you Frank and Mary for the amazing amount of work you put into each show and for making it entertaining!

Helped me make the jump to early retirement
RPR helped me navigate moving from the accumulation phase in the run-up to retirement, to knowing what to do with my money once I was ready to actually retire. A financial advisor will say, “split your money between stocks and bonds” but that isn’t comprehensive advice. I’ve used the principles and tools shared on this podcast to move investments into properly diversified portfolios to protect when I’ve spent decades accumulating from recent market shocks. Frank makes complicated topics easy to understand and compelling, hilariously underscored by his treasure trove of sound clips. This is hands down my favorite financial podcast, and I listen to about 15 of them.
  • Karen Wallace
Audio guide to retirement at any age
Worth it for the Financial Miswisdom rants alone, you’ll also take away a nugget or six from every episode. If you’re transitioning from your accumulation phase to your decumulation phase, this is the podcast for you. Don’t start with the latest episode unless you already understand risk parity portfolios — I found the following episodes foundational: 1, 3, 5, 7, 9, 12, 14, 16, 19, 21, 56, 82. Keep up the sound drops, Uncle Frank.

    Refreshingly Different
Frank Vasquez has the uncanny ability to explain complex financial topics in a very accessible and entertaining way. He imparts valuable information while also giving listeners (namely this one) a good laugh. He’s a natural “sensei” and I am very appreciative of all that he is teaching me about risk parity style investing. Thank you!
  • SuperHaruZ
    Uncle Frank is the best.
This is the absolute best investing podcast not only for those interested in Risk Parity Style portfolios, but for those who are searching for a systematic process When it comes to making your own investing decisions. There’s no promotion here, no sales, just hard earned wisdom and deeply considered advice.
  • DesertJen
    Wit and Wisdom
I look forward to each episode of Risk Parity Radio! Frank possesses the rare ability to simultaneously entertain and provide concise but thorough explanations of complex or unfamiliar topics. He answers listener questions with wit, insight, and a generosity of spirit that is refreshing and invariably makes me smile. He (and his copilot Mary) make these episodes for their children, but his portfolio experiments and thoughtful exploration of asset allocations result in golden rewards for all of us listeners!

Exactly what I needed. Thank Uncle Frank!!!
Amazing information based on data and not media. This fills the bill for exactly what I was missing. I highly recommend you start from show 1. If you are looking for that next step as you transition into FIRE or “regular” retirement, then this is for you. I definitely put this in my top three recommendations for financial independence: Phase 1 get out of debt - Dave Ramsey Phase 2 save and invest (accumulation) - J.L. Collins Simple Path to Wealth Phase 3 FIRE or retire (preserve and draw down) Frank Vasquez- Risk Parity Radio

    Good, timely info
I’m getting close to financial independence, so this podcast came at a perfect time. Many podcasts talk about how to grow wealth, which is great, but not many talk about how to keep, and maximize the use of, what you have once you have it. This podcast answers those questions thoroughly and in a way that’s easy to understand. And because “Uncle Frank” has an engineer’s mindset, it’s all backed up with data (which he links to in show notes). The sound bites are fine except when he uses the same ones over and over in the same episode (please, make the repetition stop!), but I can forgive that given the lack of ads…and the fact that I can tell Frank is having a great time. Definitely listen from the beginning.

    Frank is Not 4 Sale
This is it!! Frank shows you how to have a safe withdrawal rate. Frank tells it like it is and backs it up with data. Great retired guy who does the podcast for fun and willing to share his knowledge without compensation. He is doing it his way…. Because he can!!!
  • Mike Wende
Quite a paradigm shift for me
While I had been evolving our portfolio in this direction for a while, the insights have been very interesting and fun to explore. New listeners should definitely start at the beginning. Thanks Frank for all the education and the reference links!

    When the student is ready...
...the teacher will appear. This podcast is a wealth of knowledge for any DIY investor who is nearing the end of their wealth accumulation phase and looking to rejigger their portfolio for the drawdown years. Frank doesn’t just tell you WHAT to do with your portfolio, he explains WHY and teaches HOW to evaluate funds and determine their impact on your portfolio. You will either appreciate the pop culture sound bites or you won’t. Personally I really enjoy them. They bring some comic relief to a dense and weighty subject and I recognize almost all the clips which is fun.

    I love uncle Frank
Great focused content. Very helpful for DIY investing. Love the sound bites. Learned a lot about the fundamentals of risk parity. Just created my own aggressive test portfolio in M1: UPRO, TNA, TMF, UGL, 25% each. My version of a leveraged golden butterfly sans short term bonds. Very exciting. Can’t wait for each new episode so I can bow to my Sensei.
  • Tootseebel
    Sounds effects sink the show
Great content sans sounds effects. Absolutely impossible to listen for more than 5 minutes straight. A little bit goes a long way. Cut sounds effects by 90% and it’s a 5 star show.
  • kwkramer
    Great except sound bites
Very sound financial, but the constant sound bites are insufferable. Frank once brought it up on the pod when someone complained and he basically told his listeners to pound sand. I guarantee the vast majority of listeners would appreciate a significant reduction in the sound bites, Frank. Please tone it down!!
  • terence_ip
    Awful sound effects
The info given on the show are good, but thoses sound effects are making the show unlistenable. There are other shows given out the similar useful info. Will not go back to this show until sound effects are gone or significantly fewer.
  • cinemaniac23
    Content lost in sound bites
Frank, you are a wealth of wisdom and when I can just hear your advice like when you are on the Choose FI podcast, you are gold. But you are horrible when it comes to sound bites. They are poorly chosen, too long and distracting and it is very difficult to understand your message in between the obnoxious, overly long and farrrrr too numerous sound bite interruptions. I assume it is fun for you to cram these drops into your show like a wannabe of the Happy Harry Hard-On dj persona from The movie Pump Up the Volume. But it's torture for the listener. A few drops at the beginning and end of show would be more than enough, but please stop obliterating what I'm sure is excellent advice, if i could hear it uninterrupted.

    Outstanding DIY Investor Stuff
Frank is a knowledgeable portfolio practitioner. He combines modern portfolio theory with risk parity concepts in an easy-to-execute ETF ‘Lazy Portfolio’ format. This series is targeted at the newly retired who want to have a less volatile portfolio and who care about optimizing risk/reward. His core portfolio designs aim to deliver the return of a typical 60/40 portfolio, but with about half the risk (measured by volatility). He does an outstanding job explaining the basics, the execution, and even some core financial planning concepts. I highly recommend this series.

Retirement Portfolio Gold Mine (and Long-Term Bond Mine!)
As a recent retiree, I have been concerned with the stability of my traditional do-it-yourself financial portfolio, and, specifically, how I could trust the bond portion of my allocations. Turns out, thanks to Frank Vasquez, I learned much more than I anticipated. I feel like a Sunday driver, when my car conked out, and I just got rescued by an expert mechanic, who fixed my problems and kept me entertained the whole time. Turns out I needed more than just a bond tune-up to meet my needs for the long haul. When a need is met by insight, energy and good humor, it’s like winning a mini-lottery. Or, at least, making my investment portfolio feel like it!

    Excellent!
Changed the way I look at diversification. Motivated me to simplify my portfolio as I had many funds which were correlated with each other. Keep up the great work!
