danycordovezfSam Levy - A genius!Finding an episode of Sam Levy talking about “Lady Bird,” “Frances Ha,” and “While We’re Young” was a dream! The first two are my favorite coming-of-age films, and being able to hear how the cinematographer was influenced before and while making this project a reality confirms the depth and expertise I attribute to the artist. ardenisabellaKID CUDI | ALAN POULAs a big Kid Cudi fan, his music itself speaks to his audiences, but also produces these visuals and incites imagination within all of us. Then, when he came out with the animated films to coincide with vibrant stories being told, everything seemed to come to life. To hear the inspiration, how it stemmed from reading and breathing these comics, to making his own, is simply gold. “A broad understanding of humanity”: necessary for artistry, for encapsulating written people, their life, their culture, and their language. But, also necessary for being human, having empathy and the ability to accept.

bboone.eliThe Creative Process—Film and TVAs with all of the Creative Process’s channels, the multifaceted interviews that this podcast produces fosters a fruitful dialogue between many aspects of arts, culture, and society; compiling the voices of the hosts, co-hosts, anchors, and—foremost—the artists themselves, the Creative Process forges a space that encourages diverse perspectives, a surfeit of artistic approaches, and a commentary on contemporaneous issues, all distinct within the throughline of this project at large! Definitely worth a listen!
-
here_be_zizaEye opening and engagingI absolutely love how authentic and eye opening these podcasts are. The love and competence in the craft of these creators is inspiring for young creators like myself. I love how the questions are structured and how passionately the creators talk about their niche areas of expertise One of a kind podcast experience
-
AlwaysInNeedOfCoffeeSimple GratificationGetting to slip into the minds of different creatives, learning more about their roles and processes, gives an immense sense of gratification. I love getting to hear from the cinematographers who’ve worked on projects I genuinely enjoy watching, but listening to writers, producers, and showrunners explore their own processes and mindsets has helped shift my own way of thinking and my approach for personal projects. There’s a level of depth and personal touch to these stories that I always enjoy hearing.
-
Henie ZhangHealingI’ve been recovering from an injury lately, which has made certain forms of activity inconvenient and others impossible. I’d listened to this channel before, but recently much more so to get recommendations for new film/TV/music to enrich the extra time I have during recovery. What I found even more valuable were the experiences of the people behind the media, which resonated with mine across their creations. There are too many examples, but listening to Etgar Keret deliberate his relationship with pain, and Max Richter contemplate the importance of silence and the syncing of mind with physiology, have made me rethink the newfound stasis of my days and how to live with it and even turn it into a creative force. I felt less alone. And of course it is wonderful to discover more about the narrative, musical, cinematographic, etc. philosophy behind a work I love, such as Arrival (with Max Richter again - I’m obsessed with the original Ted Chiang short story and it’s incredible to hear it sonically captured) and Lady Bird (Sam Levy).
-
Skylard2Best podcastThis podcast really goes into depth about the film and tv industry. From the cinematography to the process of writing I left with so much new knowledge about so many different artists and directors. I really enjoyed the most recent podcast with director John Patrick Shanley. The podcast was engaging and I have found something new listening to it every time.

jskasjnsnajaja1233An Insider ViewI appreciate being able to listen to the perspectives of the many speakers featured, and saw how that influenced their creative approach. Every episode goes in depth and really gives you a complete picture of the production and creation of some of these movies. There’s enough recognizable names to find something that you’re familiar with, as well as interviews spotlighting upcoming directors and just highlighting great films that may have flown under the radar.
