GoVolsGeologyGreat overview for geology! As an undergrad this gave me an additional resource to understand things in a conceptual and intricate manor! It’s nice to revisit some early foundational concepts.

ndgreea favorite bedtime storyit’s both informative and very soothing and I like to listen to it as I wind down my day. I’m learning a lot and just yesterday I got to share a fun fact (world’s oldest rock) in conversation.

DaddioBoomBoomInformative and approachableAs an economic geologist, I find Bedrock to be a delightful listen. My field is far removed from this, but it is exciting to learn about the early geology of the planet.

DelawareOHScience the way it should be taught! Why did it take me so long to find this! Dylan has all the ingredients of a successful teacher. I love that he highlights the pioneers (especially women) of science that have seldom have their stories told. Each podcast has simple answers to bring the content alive. He explains “What’s that like?” on all types of rocks. KISS (keep it simple student) method. I’m halfway through and will be listening from the beginning again once I’m done.

AnDread80Making Earth’s Early Years AccessibleI recently started listening to Bedrock after hearing Dylan’s interview on the Common Descent podcast. Although I am an avid fan of prehistoric life and evolution, I knew very little about the Precambrian era or geology. Dylan does a great job of making Earth’s “Dark Ages” understandable, encouraging listeners to do little experiments to make concepts feel concrete. He also lays out not just what science tells us is true or probable, but how we know these things to be true or probable. From the creation of the Earth and Moon to the origin of life, this show dives into every conceivable aspect of the Earth’s early years.

Concerned in PhiladelphiaNews of the ages.I’ve forgotten most of the geology I learned at school, much of which is out of date/perspective anyway. I follow US politics fairly closely and find it a pleasing relief to change the subject from time to time. What a delight to hear from someone who has gone off in another direction and who nonetheless can speak to the lay listener and share the fascinating history of our world. Thank you.

The TillanatorOutstanding BedrockI can’t say enough that’s good about this podcast. Dr. Wilmeth spins a fine and profound yarn for our planet’s deepest history. His voice and narrative propels and soothes almost simultaneously. The program’s production is minimal, not gratuitous, just enough to whip things along. Bedrock is truly foundational.

TMMMILLERBedrock: Earth's Earliest HistoryA very informative, detailed Precambrian history, that is limited in the many popular geology books I have read. The presentation is clear and repeated as necessary to connect all the episodes. I expect that the author, who creates all the dialog, will turn the episodes into an audio book, at least. Having caught up on all past episodes, I look forward to new ones.

Badger BegoniaWowThis is one of the best. Clearly written, deeply thought out. Has he written a book? I will buy it. Absolutely a gift for science writing.

jefromanoBravissimo! You’ve gotten to be quite the narrator and producer! Love these glimpses into our crazy-weirdo life-filled planet, and appreciate your perspective on it! Bravo! Small note, maybe use a de-esser on your voice channel to tamp down on some of the “ess” sounds. Again, you’re brilliant, and I’m so glad you find time to do this what with your new appointment.
