This podcast is awesome. Im still only in the beginning of the first season but i am loving every episode. I’ve played most of the AC games and love them so when i saw this podcast on the Robots Discord i immediately knew i would like the pod. Christopher Columbus sailed across unknown waters to find savages who sacrifice hundreds of thousands of people by cutting out their heart and tearing them limb from limb. Best thing that ever happened to the Americas was for Europeans to travel here. Love the AC content but the idea that Indian’s were just living in peace and harmony rather then brutally killing each other is just simply wrong.

i’ve been playing AC since the beginning, grew up playing all the games, but i never got deep into the lore… until i found this. i listen to it while at work and because of you two, now i’ve been on a mission to replay all the games. i haven’t caught up on the podcast yet, but just wanted to say that this podcast is addicting. Valhalla has been my favorite entry in the AC universe yet and hearing you two bring up The Last Kingdom made me all happy inside when i heard it for the first time as it’s also my favorite show. Can’t wait to catch up!

I love listening to the podcast while I’m at work. I love finding out where shecup is at on her adventures through her gameplay. I’ve played assassin’s creed since the first game and fell in love the game. The amount of time and effort and research everyone puts into the episodes are great and I crack up along the way with them.

I listen to this podcast every day at work and I learn so much from The Cups. Played since day one and it scratches every single itch I have for the series. Love that Austin goes though all medias of Assassin’s Creed not just the games. Excited to listen to a new episode every time it comes out. Assassins Creed is my favorite game series, and i just discovered this podcast! I spend alot of time in my car, and this is the perfect thing to listen to while driving! Your in depth dive and into lore is amazing and i cant wait to listen to more and more of this show!

I appreciate Austin and Shelby pulling all of the AC lore together across various mediums to present focused explanations on pieces of the franchise. Austin, and especially Shelby, share a lot of opinions on actual historical events without discussing the context of actions or decisions. Your opinions on real history probably shouldn’t be included in an AC lore podcast. Better to keep opinions focused to the games and the lore.

As an AC fanboy, I love this! Although I know most of this! The detail and work being put in is amazing! Worth the listen for sure!

Went into listening to this podcast to dive deeper into the lore of the AC games. It quickly turned into a Christian and Right Wing Hating podcast. Also, the pacing is just so unbearable. So. Many. Pauses. Between. Words. Really thought it would get better as the episodes continued, but it hasn't. I’m going to look for another podcast with a similar lore exploration theme.

Just want to say I appreciate the deep fives into the lore I’ve read and listened to all the material. Played all the games it’s amazing to hear from another’s perspective. If you all ever decide to have a guest on to chat and speculate I’d be more than happy to hop on. Keep it up!!!

I can not say enough positive things about this podcast, they are not only well informed on the game and it’s lore but also they’re very well educated on Real life history. As someone who is both a history nerd and an assassins creed nerd - the cover the two hand in hand very well. However as someone who only started playing a few years ago with the ‘rpg’ trilogy there is plenty of information that I lack about how we got to where we are in the present day games and how they intertwine. The Cup’s are an amazing and entertaining way to get caught up with the lore of the world! I’ve listened through twice already and can’t wait for the weekly episode drop - if you love history, assassins creed, and just nerdy banter I cannot recommend The Cups enough! Austin is an amazing lore master and having Shelby play through with fresh eyes really helps represent many of us who may not be OG fans but still have plenty of love for the series.

I absolutely love this podcast, the Cups are great at breaking down the extremely convoluted lore of Assassins Creed. Every episode makes me want to play the games even more. If you’re wanting to learn more about Assassin’s Creed, I highly recommend this podcast.

Super fun podcast! I started playing AC two years ago with my first game being Odyssey, so this is a great way for me to catch up on all the lore I’ve missed! Love it so far, and I’m excited to make my way through the backlog :) (also, you can tell it’s mostly men who leave reviews because they seem to only criticize Shelby. Hmm, I wonder why??)

The podcast itself is far too quiet….. also your cohost seems really bored a lot of the episodes. Even audibly yawning, not a good sign when your cohost is bored about the topic.

I listen to every podcast the Cups host, and lemme tell y’all: I was so excited to start listening to the Assassin’s Creed Lorecast. I honestly kinda fall off of playing AC games, but I started listening to the ACL because the Cups are fantastic. And they inspired me to give the games another try. Austin is so informative and well-versed in the lore, and I appreciate Shelby soooo much as someone getting more invested in these games because I’m approaching it from a similar position. Seriously, you won’t regret giving this podcast a listen. And you should also join their discord which is equally great!

I was excited to find a podcast dedicated to AC lore. I’ve played several of the games and was looking for something to help tie all the games together and help explain the overall story. Austin does a fantastic job of this. You can tell he is very knowledgeable of the AC universe. The only reason I didn’t rate this 5 stars is because of Shelby. I’m not sure what she is supposed to bring to the podcast. She comes off as unprofessional at times (i.e yawning during the podcast, interrupting Austin in the middle of explaining a point). She admittedly has no knowledge of the games. As a result she often chimes in with her personal opinion about the historical context of the game. She gets on soapboxes that have nothing to do with the game. I listen to hear about AC. I do think it’s necessary to discuss the historical context the games are set in, but I don’t care what her feelings are about the politics and figures that existed hundreds of years ago. Tell the context, but leave out the commentary. A great example of this is in ep. 8 where she rants about Christopher Columbus, it doesn’t matter that she doesn’t like him, or that she’s disappointed in Ubisoft because they chose to portray him in a way that doesn’t agree with her opinion. He died 500 years ago. Her opinion of him literally doesn’t matter to anyone. Why take up a chunk of a podcast on it? I hope moving forward she dials back the personal commentary on history, politics, and religion, and sticks to the game. If she can’t, then I hope they replace her with someone else that also has knowledge of AC and can add value to the discussion about the universe the game is set in. This is a gaming podcast. Historical fiction. If it is a trigger for her, maybe it’s not the best franchise for her to join a podcast about. I like Austin’s insight and the information he shares. You can tell he loves the franchise. That’s what I’m looking for in an AC podcast.

I have been an AC fan since day one and i love how you 2 break down everything about the lore and actually be correct about it, It's very refreashing to hear. This is an awesome podcast for any fan of the AC franchise. Austin and Shelby do a great job of combining historical background and in-depth expositions of AC Lore. Their reflective demeanor help give a lot of the stories/content a grounded feel and dissect info without it feeling sluggish. When the podcast actually talks about the lore they’re decent and worth a listen. But when they interject (Shelby especially ) they go on and on and are mostly incorrect about it or are just bashing historical figures without any actual context from the times. This isn’t the 1619 project, I came to listen to an AC podcast not some revisionist history

Been a huge fan of AC since AC3 and have played through all at this point. Currently in the process of going 100% complete on AC:Valhalla. Been looking for a podcast for the Lore behind AC and man the cups hit it on the head. I’m a bit behind on the podcast (currently on episode 3) but with this podcast, I’ll be caught up in no time! Keep up the great work!

Just a few weeks before the very first episode of this podcast was released, I had found myself diving back into the AC games and falling in love with them all over again. I listen to a number of other lore casts and I couldn’t believe there was nothing out in the world that covered AC lore properly. Then as if my wish had been granted, I discovered the Cups!
