Jude Treder WolffAmber is a creative force and amazing resourceAmber is so innovative in the ways she develops and implements ideas, inspiration and immediately useful resources for writers. This podcast is one of these! I love the short episodes with very focused suggestions, guidance and writing tips. This podcast is like having a mentor or coach talk to me while I am driving or exercising, which I love, and primes my writing brain for when I sit down to work. Amber understands writers. Highly recommend!

Totally OfficeObsessed. If you need a kick in the butt when it comes to productivity, this podcast is here to save you. The 5-minute writing exercises are life changing. Also, I LOVE that the episodes are so short because honestly I do not have time for hours long podcasts in my life. I wish I did, but sadly, I do not. Lastly, anyone else think Amber sounds like Jodi Benson aka Ariel?! 🥹

SharonSpellDon’t Wait to ListenAmber is the master of thoughtful tips to get you writing. She shares relatable stories and actionable tasks that lead to better work habits. I’m especially a fan of her meditations, which are created for folks who may-or-may-not be into meditating but who are definitely into writing.

ChuckchuckgooseA Hole Ocean of PossibilitiesWow! I love it! The this is the 5 minute “write like an a-hole” prompt and calming water noises that I needed to finally allow myself to write about farting in the ocean. Amazing show!

JoanieKoobsAmber Changed My Freakin’ Life……and I’m not a person who says that sort of thing lightly. I do not read many self-help books, or look to astrology, or arrange crystals and semi-precious rocks in a certain configuration (though I have half-assedly tried all of these things, and super-envy people who find direction in them). I am a cynical old bag who believes in nothing. I believe in Amber. I had written pretty much nothing in years, and had the deep-rooted belief that nobody wanted to hear anything from me. How would I even go about pitching them anyway? Ugh. I should probably just roll over and die. Whatever magic Amber has in her writing exercises and dulcet voice nudged me toward putting pen to paper (finger-nubs to keyboard?) until I was actually getting published in a bunch of online magazines, which eventually led to my nabbing of a full-time writing gig (a gig I ALSO found through Amber). I suppose I worked hard for these things, but I really-truly wouldn’t have done it at all if her advice hadn’t been so inspiring and anxiety-reducing. So listen to everything she says and act accordingly! Amber is the only semi-precious rock I believe in!

Margaret1123Amber is great!Amber gives practical, really helpful advice!
-
courtenayrHelpful, practical tipsI was excited to see that Amber now has a podcast, as she is a great writing instructor. I especially like the Friday podcasts where she goes into a little more detail, sharing personal stories and encouraging tips to just get started. Plus her voice is very soothing and she’s hilarious. I’ll be listening!
-

MkayfofofofoLoved the Half-*ssed Writers Challenge, looking forward to more Amber Petty!I feel like imposters syndrome comes with the craft of writing, and Amber Petty is the best encouragement. She’s down to earth and practical and accomplished… I loved her three day workshop, and I’m looking forward to these short, small installments, too!

claofgrl108Loving this writing podcast!I am loving this podcast so far. I want to be a writer, think of myself as a writer, and yet… don’t do much writing at all right now. Amber’s podcast helps me reframe perfectionism so that I can actually write and have fun and not take everything so seriously! Can’t wait to follow along for more episodes.
-
TheMandyEllisHelpful and awesome for writers!I love Amber’s wry and witty humor in the way she describes her writing life and how she delivers tips. There’s few podcasts that offer a variety of different types of episodes from tips to exercises to meditations, and I feel like she gets the writer experience. She knows what she’s talking about, how to help other writers get results, and gives you good laughs along the way. It’s a joy to listen to her, loved the ocean sounds, and I can’t wait to hear more episodes, advice, and unique takes on writing.
-
AyTeeKay14Excellent! Can’t wait for more!DWtW is one of those rare podcasts that is both well produced AND has great content! Amber is great to listen to, her episodes are quick and easy to digest, and her suggestions and tips are both helpful and attainable. She has a realistic approach to freelance writing while still being positive, encouraging, and a tad self deprecating! I would actually recommend this for ANY writer - fiction, sketch, tv/film as well as the non-fiction genre to which it’s primarily aimed.
-

NotYvonneSCan’t wait to hear this!Oh boy oh joy more Amber Petty!!! If you’re new to her wit and wisdom and full bodied support for your ability as a writer, what lies ahead is a journey in creativity you will never recover from. (Oops I just ended with a preposition.) Because I’m excited that not only do I get her illuminating newsletters with all sorts of for me untapped potential writing gigs but also her voice and inspiration right in my earbuds. Just sign up. Even if you’re not a writer even if you hate writing, she’ll at least brighten up a few minutes of your day in this too often depressing world. And who knows? After a few listens ya just might find you enjoy using that BIC for something besides hateful comments on your student loan statement.
