Love the show, but I do disagree on some points
I do think that Dan is judging too early on Trapillo just taking either the Left or Right Tackle position with nothing standing in his way. He has looked very good in helmet, t-shirt and shorts. But he won’t beat out Darnell Wright (a 1st round pick, who has played well) on the right side. And Braxton Jones who is just capable, has 3 seasons of experience against NFL rushers. Until we see Trapillo in action with the pads we shouldn’t make that assumption. Mark seems emotionally scarred by the Green Bay Packers. Being an old man I remember the Bears beating the Packers like a drum in the 80’ and most of the 90’s. That is history I know, but so is Favre and Rodger’s playing QB. Jordan Love is 3-1 against the Bears (good but hardly overwhelming) and 1-1 against Caleb Williams. Perhaps Grote should take Dave the Cat with him to Packers games as a comfort pet.

    Enjoyable Podcast
How can there be any talk of not taking any position other than a left tackle in the 1st round?
  • BearDown1920
    Love it, except…
Longtime listener, Grote and Dan are great together. Please no more Studz on air. More interviews, and no more little broken up segments that make me think there’s new episodes! Would be 5 stars otherwise.
  • pelopota
Good bears podcast, terrible podcast display.
Good bears conversations, really appreciate the honest takes, lack of homer and meatball takes. I’m knocking them a star for the way they break up each episode in the podcast line up and it complicates and messes up my pod line-up. I’ve tolerated it for a year or 2 at this point but I’m going to stop listening and following if they don’t change this soon. There are too many good sports podcasts to follow ones that annoy me in this way. If/when they change that I’ll give them a 5th star. If not, I’m out of here by the end of the bears season. Hope this feedback helps, I’ve seen other reviews that despise this set up…why piss off your listeners?

My Go To Bears Podcast With One Exception
To be clear, I love this podcast, Dan & Mark are passionate and connected insiders and I learn a lot about the Bears and the NFL from them. The only thing keeping me from giving this 5 stars is the explicit language that has recently permeated the episodes. The frustration over Eberflus and the Bears hiring practices, plus their outlandish loses is certainly frustrating. I get it. But several of us listen to the podcast with our children and since there is no explicit label, we do not get a warning. I liked Take The North much more when it was PG rated. Something to consider.

    Great!
I enjoy listening to this podcast for its in-depth Chicago Bears discussions and coverage. Keep up the good work!

    Keep Studz off
I agree with loho jr. Has Haugh left the podcast due to his Chicago Sports Network commitment?
  • loho jr
    Keep Studz off
He seems like a nice guy but Adam Studinski is way over his skies when he’s hosting a show. Have a pro like Mark Grote or anyone else on when either Dan or David need time off. It’s painful to hear him try to hold a show together

    Good stuff
Look forward to the full episodes each week. Super in tune reporting and analysis from all the hosts. Well done
  • DJ1985!
    Informative, funny, entertaining
No matter the topic, you can always count on on-point, informed content about the Bears with great conversation on this pod. When there are guests, they are usually must-listen episodes. Dan and David know their stuff and relay it well. With the Bears seemingly entering a new era of winning, this should be a fun ride!

    Mid Sentence Ads!?
Dan and David are great, best two people out there for Bears podcasts but the producer needs to go. Every five minutes theres a new 1-2 minute ads that start mid sentence! I don’t mind ads but where they are placed is just annoying, Dan’s audio is often horrible and cutting out. I’ve listened to multiple episodes that finished before they were done speaking. Just cut off mid sentence(again) to end the show, it could be a much better podcast than it currently is.

Huge fan of “Take the North”
Dan & David give great insight on the Chicago Bears. Been listening since the podcast began and believe this is the most sober analysis of the team and has been for 3 yrs. We are all fans and want the team to do great, but don’t want to listen to cheerleaders. Dan & David while fans and want good things for the Bears don’t sugar coat what they see. If you listened last year you were not surprised that Justin would be moving on. We all rooted for the kid, he was a good dude, it just didn’t happen for him here & TTN podcast was honest about where he was. With the upcoming season looking like something we haven’t seen from the Bears maybe ever, you won’t want to miss an episode. I’ll be here. You should too if you call yourself a Bears fan.

Please stop with the snippet episodes
Great podcast, with two of the best in the business. But for the love of God please stop posting the individual segments. It’s annoying thinking I have new episodes and it’s just segments from the full episode. Then I have to go in and mark them as played so I don’t just get them playing again. It makes me want to unsubscribe!
  • 19mjs79
    Solid (but redundant)
Bears coverage is excellent but often overlaps with their WSCR content. I skip a lot of episodes, not due to lack of interest but because I’ve already heard it. Maybe consider more segments/topics that are unique to this pod. Thanks for all the good work, though!
  • The Chicago P1
    Dan is a Clown
Dan cares more about replies he got to his own tweet then actually talking about the Bears. Dan is not the story, this is journalism 101. He wants to be noticed so bad that he makes everything about him.
  • Montana Bear Fan
    Tough Listen
Haugh is solid and balanced in his opinions. Wiederer on the other hand is negative and condescending.
  • sportsmediajunky
Bottom of the Barrel Bears Pod
Dan, known fabricator of news and narrative; a low character and low integrity Bears reporter sits with David a Chicago sports media legend. This pod has so much potential, but would be better suited with reputable second chair that one could believe is unbiased and not just a mouthpiece for whoever his latest current source is inside the Bears organization.

    Ads
Listened to a quick show today where there was over 3 minutes of ads on a 9 minute show. Most ads of any podcast I listen to! Good information, between the ads!

    Great pod
Love this pod but on the latest episode with Herb his mic was annoying as heck. Cracking and cutting in and out almost the entire episode. Still, 5-star pod
  • no-nickname-since-it-is-taken
    Dan is way TOO negative
Chill Dan. JFC it’s okay for fans to be optimistic. Go back to Minnesota.
  • Dghtl123
    Always Negative
Dan is a very good beat reporter but he has always been quick to focus on the negative regarding the Bears. Even going back to his podcast with Rich Campbell years ago. I’m not looking for seashells & balloons all the time but constant focus on the Bears shortcomings (win or lose) is wearying. David Haugh is just as negative but not just about the Bears. He must be a very unhappy person to crap on teams & players 95% of the time. Add his NUMEROUS idiotic takes (i.e. Orlando Brown is a great LT and if he doesn’t fit the Bears offense then they should change their offense for him) and he just comes across as whiny and smug. Too many other better Bears podcasts to continue listening to this predictable nonsense.
  • tbone hags
We are going to blow this way out of proportion - Jeremy jamm
I like David and Dan - but they seem to forget that their listeners are looking for optimism and positivity. Peace, T-Bone
  • IHPJoeguy
    Just too much
Too Pompous, too repetitive and too negative. Sorry you guys have to cover the Bears for so long! Plus I wear ear buds to listen to my pods a lot and this show likes to blast the surprise commercials, making me stop what I’m doing to rip them from my ears.
  • sweetnessfan34

I know it’s the slow season with regards to NFL news that actually matters. Bringing up “news” about Kevin Warren without the details is just irresponsible. You cast a cloud on his reputation without knowing the facts. Not cool !
  • emptynestingmatt
It’s not a “bonus” when the “hosts” are out of towners
Generally enjoy this new podcast but when I see “bonus episode” I expect it to be hosted by the actual hosts. Then, it turns ms out the “bonus” hosts are the epitome of “bash the bears” out of town stupid!! They weren’t all wrong but they clearly read stat lines and had little actual knowledge. Come on guys, it’s your show.
  • jecbears
Free agency just started (complaining already)
Complaining about the 1st free agents signing being linebackers after the first hour is dramatic. Other teams are trying to land offensive tackles too. Maybe these teams are a piece or two away. Maybe the Bears were outbid. Since off-season started all you hear is the Bears need help at every level. Roquan is not coming back give it a rest, he’s a Raven and stop living in the past. This is a new era if you can’t tell. You guys cry way to much.

  • DtsJr
Dan and David, the best and worst.
Dan is absolutely one of the best journalist covering the Bears. His sound logic and thoroughness is always on display. He is always compelling. On the other hand, I have tolerated David’s superficial, often pompous contributions until now. David reached a new low, exposed his true self in the Mully&Haugh show Feb 3, during which his compulsiveness, ignorance and arrogance were on full display. He suggested that Ditka was irrelevant in the 85 championship run. He sought to undermine a great man’s achievement and when confronted, he shamelessly, repeatedly backpeddled. I’ve had it with the dimwit.
  • Halas Proper
    A little too much
Analysis isn’t bad, but they release way too many episodes, often covering the same topics over again and absolutely flooding my podcast feed with “bonus” episodes. 1-2 episodes a week is standard for a reason, in my opinion. 3, 4, 5 in a day is just obscene. Would listen weekly and subscribe if releases were more concise. Not bad content, but just too much.
  • Ron McReynolds
    Overexposed windbags
These guys take themselves way too seriously. Nope. No. Nuh-uh.
  • raven540
    Broadcasts ego
Terrible. Over half the broadcast was warning listeners not to over react to one decent half by their young QB. The same listeners they tried to say were too intelligent not to already know this. Absolutely awful. How about some analysis. You claim not to want to tell listeners how to think and then spend most of your time doing just that.
  • Pat K 85
    Amazing Bears podcast!
Dan and David know their stuff and it shows. They know the Bears inside and out and they know the inner-working of the NFL and they have an entertaining style of delivering that information. Informative, candid, funny. This podcast has been a delight.
  • Lost_Cause
    Production
The horrible audio production takes away from the product being the conversation.
