Been listening for about a year now and this pod has vaulted to the top of my list, look forward to hearing it every Monday. Was fortunate enough to be a guest on the show which will air on May 13. Love this show and am a regular listener. Guess The Year is a great concept and I've learned a lot not just about the Grateful Dead, but about listening to live music, the equipment involved, both instruments and recording technology. I also just like hearing other Deadhead perspectives. Every head has their own story and reason why they love the band. It's definitely a show for Deadheads, but I think even non-Deadheads could learn about the live music, the band, the meaning of fandom. I wish I had come up with the idea for this show but Mike the host does a great job of incorporating the contestants' viewpoints and getting interesting guests to share knowledge about the Dead. I look forward to every episode.

If you’re into the Grateful Dead you need this show. It’s fun to guess the year along with the contestants. It’s also heartwarming to hear the stories of how each person got on the bus and where it’s taken them from there. The host is good at moving the game along while graciously encouraging just the right amount of banter.

Many fans of The Grateful Dead have amused their friends with the ability to nail down the year of a Grateful Dead live performance simply by listening to it. It’s far more a nuanced skill than a parlor trick given the band’s 2,500 concerts. Here’s a podcast that organizes this into an enjoyable and informative game show. Most highly recommended!

Thanks to my 17 year old daughter for turning me onto Mike’s show. Just such a neat blend of music, history, stories and community. Can’t wait for season 2 to start soon.

This is such a great show and awesome way to connect with the Dead and other folks who love them as much as I do!
