This show is perfect for me. As a 40-year-old man with ADHD this is the first news medium I’ve been able to consistently keep up with. And it feels good to effortlessly be able to have intelligent conversation in different circles about world events and really know what I am talking about because of what I learn from this podcast. This was definitely built for people like me. Thank you.

I enjoy getting the quick 7 top stories each day on my way to work, However, it’s easy to hear the personal feelings and opinions in the stories.

This was great for me. Quick and informative. Now it’s just quick. Sadly not following

I canceled my WaPo subscription not because of the journalists. They do a wonderful job of writing and covering the news. I canceled my subscription because of Jeff Bezos and his interference with the editorial process of WaPo. His love of Trump is greater than his love of country or journalistic integrity.

I have a very centric mindset and stance. This show used to be very good. Now, unfortunately it is extremely one sided. If you have strong liberal veiws you will enjoy it. If you are moderate or Republican you will not. I rarely review things but everyday I listen I am very disappointed in the stories and the angles the host takes to slant them in a democratic way. The first 3 stories are always on current political issues, and it only takes 5 seconds to realize the hosts stance on that new topic. The news should not be this slanted. Find a host that will tell the news the old way.

I’ve been an avid listener for a while. However, I was disappointed to hear Hannah Jewel refer to the Golf of Mexico as The Gold of America. We don’t own it and “he” can’t arbitrarily change it. If it was a joke, it landed badly. Please don’t give in to his foolishness.

The 7 is the perfect way to start my day. We subscribe to the print edition Post too, but I get my AM briefing on morning walk to the gym.

7 is good. Love it. Can I get an A on my homework?

I think having gambling advertisements on the show calls into question the integrity of the whole show. Quality news wouldn’t allow that type of advertising.

Your coverage of Jan 6th exposed your leftist ideology. I began listening recently and was suspicious but today's chosen verbiage of the Jan 6th story proved to me that you are nothing but propaganda. Goodbye.

Really value this podcast - from its efficiency and choice of 7 stories, to even the music between stories and Hannah Jewels voice, as well as the voice of her fill ins. Very well done. Am considering dropping my subscription to the WP because of Bezos and his lack of integrity around the election, but that only means I’d have to listen to the 7 with commercials, so - it’s worth it. Great podcast!

I read the Washington Post every day (in hard copy). The unfortunate issue is that the Producer and Host of The Seven only offer the most liberal aspects of each story. Very skewed podcast!

I enjoyed listening to The 7 for quite a while, but then the left bias became unbearable during the 2024 election season. I’m sad I have to stop listening.

Blame your craven, greedy owner

So on Oct 28th, the Washington Post itself wasn’t even in the 7 headlines… Hmm. Throw “good journalism” in a well?? Yep.

Hannah Jewell is a good journalist, but I’m sorry - she makes the podcast is unlistenable now. I’d rather hear the robotic voice. Update months after posting my first review: SAME. This morning she was obviously sick again (or still sick), which is so hard to listen to. And her glibness at times is also grating. I don’t understand why WaPo can’t use a professional for this podcast.

I wanted to love this show. And I really enjoy the format. There are no inserted opinions, just straight facts. I also love how short & concise it is. However, the actual content chosen leaves a lot to be desired. This show claims to offer the most important 7 news stories each day…. But a lot of these stories are puff pieces about Pandas and such. It’s only a 7 minute podcast. There are certainly 7 important actual news stories that occur each day. None of their 7 included stories should be fluff.

News delivered like international stations (BBC, the Guardian, etc). In other words, to me, it seems like news delivered as news—no opinions inserted to try to seem like a “neutral” party (as is typical is most journalism in the States).

The 7 news stories are read in a flat monotone manner. Doesn’t keep my attention. Has the feel of a high school class doing a daily assignment

I usually enjoy listening to this show every morning. But I have to say today’s show opened with a very biased story. It said that Trump was meeting with world leaders at the UN and the implication was that world leaders believed that he would be our next president. And then the story concluded with a brief parenthetical note saying that Kamala Harris was leading in the popular vote. Yet, Harris is also meeting with world leaders, and this was not mentioned. Please do better!

Listen if you (like me) want to know what the misinformation promoted by the Washington Post on a daily basis

I listened for a year before wiring this review. It is non-stop bad news about Trump and republicans. It is non-stop good news about Harris and democrats. They don’t even try to hide it.

I appreciate having a summary of the news but the narrator read it in an affectless and very drab way. I would prefer a little more life in the summary maybe less reading and more natural language and communication

I listen to this as I get ready each morning. A good mix of serious and light-hearted updates. It’s just the right amount of news for me to not feel overwhelmed with the world but informed. (I usually dive deeper into a few of the stories later.)

Just the right length to get me started each weekday. I listen to get a summary then go to The Post if I want more detail. Thanks to The Post for providing this morning wake up that nearly always has one small story that makes me smile in addition to more sobering moments.

Not worth the airwaves they’re spread across

I heard this advertised on Newt’s show with the claim of 7 minutes for the news of the day - so I tried it. In the very first story the reporter chose to factcheck Trump. Not neutral. The Washington Post is a left of center news source. You can do better at Daily Wire and other news sources.

The 7 has become part of my routine for the work day. Information from a variety of industries allows me to feel “in the know” on topics in a style that quick and precise. Thanks Washington Post.

The 7 is the first podcast I listen to every morning. Succinct, informative news coverage and good music in between segments. A good mix of serious and light-hearted news updates.

Definitely love to hear this daily! But wish it was more unbiased. That’s the only negative.

There is a sound issue with the background music.

This podcast uses very simplistic writing, and a perky approach best suited for the under 40 set. Prefer something not written at an 8th grade level, and the cutest entertainment is annoying. Searching for a synopsis to inform not entertain; this is much more entertain.

I expect news to be without sensationalized wording. If you were to listen to this passively, you would likely be influenced to feel a certain way about some stories. I hope people listen with critical thinking skills to discern fact from persuasion.

It is the only news I allow myself to hear. Short , to the point and funny . Keep myself informed without wasting time with repetitive news all day .

I loved Pierre now I love Hannah Pleasant voice and humor and brief thoughts about the top news. I have been listening for some time now and I am about to subscribe so I can dive into more news around the globe. This pod is good while driving, while waiting while finding time to see what’s happening. Keep up the good 7 for us thank you.

This podcast packs in the most important nuggets of news in the smallest possible time and presents them in an attractive manner.

I tried out “The 7” as my morning wake up podcast so I could get away from NPR and “The Daily”. Definitely not going back because I love the piece of which they move through the news as I start to wake up.

The Seven, like my first cup of coffee, wakes me up with its well vetted news and humor. Thank you for a terrific show, one of my favorites!!!! Your intelligence, diligence, and talent contribute to my understanding of our world.

The 7 is now my go to for daily news pods (outshining up first). I listen every morning and I love waking up to Hannah’s informative and warm voice. I am now a digital subscriber because of pods like this one and post reports. Keep it coming, folks.
