Drama #156

The Razumov Files, from Spyscape Studios, is an audacious audio reimagining of Joseph Conrad’s classic spy thriller Under Western Eyes, starring Jessica Brown Findlay (Downton Abbey, Brave New World) and Maryam D'Abo (The Living Daylights). Approaching the events leading to the 1917 Russian Revolution like a present-day investigative podcast, The Razumov Files is a radical reinvention of spy fiction - and podcasting. Episode 1 is available wherever you get your podcasts from 23 November 2022. The remaining episodes are available on the same day exclusively with Spyscape+ on Apple Podcasts. A Cup & Nuzzle production, written and directed by Justin Trefgarne.

    Very Cool
Lol I can’t tell where the spy story ends and the soft core porn romance begins tbh it’s kinda gross

    Hard to follow.
Story is interesting, but it’s hard to follow , feels like narrator just talking to her self and it’s hard to connect.

    Not Entirely Brilliant, But Enjoyable
The dialogue is often less than natural or fluid, but the plot is interesting enough to keep me coming back when I’m in the right mood. It’s not entirely brilliant but it is at the very least original and unique enough that I find myself enjoying it despite its scattered shortcomings. Pay attention though; unwittingly zone out for a few moments and you may find yourself confused for the rest of the series as they don’t always go out of their way to make it easy to follow

    Full of poor re-enacted conversations
You’re supposed to be intrigued, but the “conversations” are just unnatural script readings & make one roll one’s eyes.
