    First Time Marathon Runner
Have been listening to this podcast for months as I prep for my first full marathon in April. It has made a world of a difference for my mindset and has inspired me to start my own podcast all about running in the coming months. Can’t recommend this podcast enough for runners!

    Love these guys!
I have been listening to this podcast for a few months and I’ve used a lot of the info I’ve learned in my training. Now I’ve even started from episode one and listening to them all in order.

    Strongly Recommend
I have been trying to find a running podcast that provides actionable advice ever since I started my first marathon training 6 weeks ago. This is that podcast. Excellent topics, loads of information, lots to think about as I journey to getting my first 26.2 in the books. THANK YOU!!!

    Entertaining & Informative!
Started reading Run to the Finish blog as I was training for the 2024 Marine Corps Marathon, and am officially hooked on the Tread Lightly podcast! Amanda and Laura are knowledgable and so entertaining/enjoyable to listen to - wholeheartedly recommend for any runners (of all experience levels)!

    So helpful!
This has become one of my favorite podcasts as I have gotten more serious about distance running and am working on gut training. No 30-minute life updates before the episode actually starts, just clear and concise information from the top. Thank you ladies!

    Useful and motivating
I really appreciate the inclusive tone and approach Amanda and Laura take for their podcast… it doesn’t matter if you’ve been running for decades or just got started, they present information in a way I can understand and interpret to my own fitness goals.

Good advice on questions that every runner has.
These coaches give great recommendations based on the science experience they have with coaching and running. I recommend this show all the time on social media and reddit because they have answers to almost every common question that runners will face when training for 5Ks to marathons.

    Cliff Notes For Running
While the audience for this podcast seems to skew towards women, collectively the episodes add up to a solid nuanced education on the current science of endurance running, delivered in a very no nonsense format. A nitpick I have from listening to every episode is the amount of times the hosts agree with each other about every point, which can feel artificial, but this is preferably to that *other* big running podcast from Boulder Colorado, which often blurs the line between established science and personal hot takes. I also wish there was another way to contact the hosts if you have opted out of instagram. This review will have to do.

    Let’s get to 200 reviews!
Hey thank you for your fantastic episodes! I love that you choose topics that are super relevant to regular runners’ experiences and concerns, as opposed to reporting on elite materials or professionals news. I also like that you focus on really addressing the issue in an entertaining and easy to understand manner, versus trying to be “too cute” and being corny. Hate when other podcast fill up a bunch of time doing just that. Please keep great content coming!

    Love!
Laura and Amanda know their stuff! Every topic they discuss they do so thoughtfully, and with nuance and a little humor. The perfect balance.

    Helpful and Practical
I love that there are so many episodes for beginner runners that are training for new distances. Things are explained in a simple and helpful way. And I can’t believe someone left a bad review over a mispronounced word. So I came here to leave my good review.

    Accessible and SO Helpful!
I started listening to this podcast after it started, but now I am going back and listening to ALL of the episodes! Amanda Brooks and Laura Norris are SO knowledgeable, and deliver that information in short bytes over each approximately 30 minute episode. I have learned a lot already and know I will continue learning as I continue to listen. Thanks, ladies for such a helpful podcast!

    So much knowledge
Amanda and Laura are amazing running coaches who give so much value and knowledge to those who would listen and apply. Thank you!!

    Real research, no ads
What I really like about this podcast is 1- they refer to actual peer reviewed research and cite sources. Can’t stand how another popular running podcaster often says ‘research says’ without citing sources! No critical thinker should ever accept that! 2- love the dialogue and how they ask each other open ended questions (“how do you see it?”). 3- NO ADS.
  • THWL
One of the BEST running podcasts
Love love love the mix of science and practical advice for everyday runners. Smart and well researched advice that is not jargony and in plain English. More podcasters need to learn from this show

    Helpful Running Podcast
Listening to this podcast as I have gotten back into running over the last couple of years has been a great education in all that has changed since I ran in high school many years ago. Listening back through the archive, I found many episodes that answered questions I didn’t know I had. My running is stronger and more enjoyable thanks to what I’ve learned. Many thanks!

The definition of running smarter not harder!
The information on this podcast is truly second to none! Its practical, evidenced based and succinct. Each week’s show is applicable to runners of all kinds—novice, experienced, slower, faster, low mileage, high mileage, you name it. It’s the first thing I listen to on my Saturday long runs and despite being a runner for almost 20 years, I learn something with every episode!

    For every runner
A lot of running podcasts can be geared towards fast runners but Laura and Amanda are really for everyone, whether you run a 6 min pace or a 16 min pace! They are so knowledgeable and disseminate info well for the layman! Full disclosure: Laura is my coach, and I reached out to her after listening to the podcast for a while!

    Great fact based running info
Recently found their podcast and have been working my way through all of the episodes. Really appreciate that they don’t go all in on the newest greatest hyped up product or workout but use actual science and critical thinking to back up their info. Highly recommend.

    Thorough, Evidence Based, AND fun!
When I started running last year I got pretty zealous and I binged a LOT of running podcasts. So trust me when I say this is one of the best you can find. The co-hosts provided evidence-based and thorough information on each episode’s topic, and most impressively, they do that while making a show that is fun and relaxing to listen to. Go ahead and binge this show, your running economy and your health and your happiness will thank you!
  • mamarunner22
    Absolutely LOVE this podcast!
Currently binge listening to it and finally getting so much good advice for how to run and not get injured or burned out! This is all amazing stuff I never knew. I would love more info on 5ks and shorter distances since I feel this is mostly geared toward marathoners. I have trained and raced 5ks over 10 years but don’t have any desire to race any greater distance due to lifestyle and time investment. I feel like most of the population could probably relate to focusing on shorter distances and I’d just love more info and research to drill in on improving that area. But thanks so much and keep the good episodes coming! ;)
