    Tough listen
I know the Angels have terrible over the last decade but the constant bashing of this team and belittling any minor bright spot is beyond frustrating. Sam is a fantastic sports journalist but this podcast doesn’t feel overall objective, it feels like a frustrated reporter and a Giants fan constantly laughing at the Angels dismay. I appreciate candid discussions, but this just feels negative no matter what happens.

    Yikes
Sam Blum is a phenomenal feature writer - but he is abysmal covering a team day to day. The Angels are a punching bag (and for the most part it’s earned) but Sam is unwilling to look past Arte Moreno with anything Angels related. Steer clear of this one and listen to Locked on Angels instead. They’re much more balanced (and actually up to date on what the team is doing).

    Great content, terrible listen
We are now almost two years into this podcast, and Sam continues to ask the right questions. But how in the name of Angels does the lead host have worse sound quality than his co-host?? Sam it’s embarrassing, and it makes me avoid the podcast knowing that you’re just going to sound like a guy talking on a Zoom call to Conor. Invest in some audio equipment. It’s been two years.

    Truth speakers
This pod is one of my favorite because it echoes and reinforces everything I feel about the Angels. They don’t bash the team for the sake of bashing them. They point out the many missteps of the ownership and how handcuffed the GM is. Please continue to be a sounding board for all fans and hopefully, better days are ahead!

    Loving the start
UPDATE: My ears love that this has been fixed. The podcast is still incredible and a must-listen for any Halos fans. Keep up the great work. I’m really enjoying the podcast so far. Only a few episodes in but it is a must-listen for me every time. The only thing I’ve noticed is that the outro music/beat is significantly louder than the audio when you two talk. I know it is a minor thing, but I listen with headphones and really have to crank the volume up to hear both of you talk. So when the outro comes in it’s incredibly loud and blows my ears out for a second. Again, incredible podcast and don’t want that to take away from it. Just a plea for the welfare of my ears

    Thoughtful, Nuanced, Necessary Angels Pod
This is a podcast I learn from and appreciate. I’ve been an Angels fan for 30 years. Today, I find the most thought provoking Angels coverage to come from Sam Blum. He’s a journalist and his work analyzing what’s caused the Angels many years of failure is the best I’ve heard.

    Best Angels Pod out there.
    Appreciate your work 🐐.

Angel Podcast should not feature San Francisco and Yankee fans
I love Sam, but please remove the other two guys who waste time talking about teams they root for. It is a waste of my time to listen to them. Can’t Sam find commenters who have inside knowledge about the Angels, up to his level.

    High Hopes
I had high hopes for this podcast as a longtime Angels fan, but unfortunately it did not live up to my expectation. (Just like the Angels each year.) Each episode the hosts joke about how poorly the organization is run, which is fair but simply talking about how bad the team is or how bad Arte is gets boring. Sam is a great journalist, and one of the reasons I was so excited about this podcast was because as a journalist that covers the team, he has the opportunity to add more to the conversation than a fan show can. In a recent episode, there was talk about how the Angels don’t have a pitching lab or hitting lab and joke about how behind they are. That is totally fair, but it would be interesting to know what they actually do have in place for hitters and pitchers.

    Amazing podcast
This is an absolutely amazing podcast! 10/10 recommend for any Angels fan. If only our team was half as good as this podcast…..

    Sam Blum is a Bum
Sam is a 12 year old gossipy girl stuck in a slight man’s body. Say what you heard from Rendon or shut up about it.

Good logical podcast about the state of the organization
This podcast’s ability to analytically look at the state of the organization as the season plays out helps me stay informed about the state of the Angels after a week (or two weeks) of games through review and analysis.

    Great show
I love Sam’s coverage of the Angels. Sometimes his analysis is hard to take as an angels fan but he’s always thoughtful and fair. We are lucky to have him.

    Great Show
Really great non-fan approach. Real Angels fans want to hear it like it is, with criticism where it is merited and praise where it is earned. Excellent writing on the Athletic as well. Keep up the great work!

    My first episode
Just listened to my first episode. Good podcast, nice format. Talk a little more about the possible future of the team. What it looks like without Ohtani, or with him etc… keep it up, I will continue to listen!

    Finally!
Life long Angels fan, finally some fair content that doesn’t hide the organizations mediocrity. This is the way.

Looking forward to listening all season
Off to a good start! Interesting to hear more of Sam’s perspective, beyond the great articles he writes in The Athletic. My only gripe is the sound balance - it was a little tough to hear Sam talking in the first episode (and I wouldn’t want to miss a word.)
  • nukedzombie55
    Really interesting first episode
As an Angels fan where the motto hope springs eternal sort of feels like groundhogs day every spring training it is nice to listen to non Angels fans discussing the state of the team without the unbiased nature that fandom creates. I enjoyed the first episode and can’t wait to listen going forward. This is probably the most important season in Angels history. The Angels can’t afford to lose Ohtani for nothing. It would cripple the organization for years to come.

    Great new Angels podcast
There aren’t enough good podcasts covering the Angels. I’m really excited to listen to Sam and Connor all season!

Not for Angel Fans to Feel Good
1st I want to say that Sam is honest when he says that this isn’t a podcast for fans that just want to hear the good stuff. Unfortunately if your a fan you want some positivity for your team and if your not a fan then I don’t know why you would listen to it. So I’m a bit confused. That being said it is an honest podcast about what is happening within the Angels organization. However I didn’t find a lot of what was said to be anything new because it was pretty much what Sam reports on Twitter just regurgitated in a podcast. I will listen to more episodes just to see where this podcast goes as I respect Sam and his reporting. I just hope we get things to celebrate mixed in with bad stuff. I know that Arte and the Angels have a lot to work on but I think most of us prefer to focus on the positives rather then the negatives.

    Great non-biased Halo Podcast
Sam and Connor do a great job talking Halos baseball. They aren’t trying to pump up the fans, but rather keep it real. Appreciate it! Go Halos!

An authority on all things Angels baseball
Sam Blum has been at the forefront of the coverage of the team and this extra insight will only lead to more good things.
