Perfect timing

I found this pod cast by chance. It was perfect timing. I have been on a journey to know the Lord and turn my life around. I had no idea these stories would be so powerful and impactful. The show is full of unnecessary commercials. I listen to podcasts all the time and there might be 1 set in an hour long episode. Not every couple of minutes.

So detailed

I started listening to this thinking it would be a regular podcast, but it turned out to be SOOOOOOOO good. The one about David and Goliath is so detail d and interactive. I love that they pray with you. As a Christian it is important to me to interact with others Christians and read the Bible. I hate it how on some podcasts they tell what they think the story is about instead of fact checking or read directly from the Bible but on this one it is different it is so good and I recommend this to all of you other Christians. ❤️you Dr. Tony Evans!

The newest episode is hard to find the past couple of weeks

It’s been laggy or some kind of technical glitch, but when I go to listen every Friday the new episode is there. Last week it finally appeared but this week I’m not seeing it ☹️ I LOVE this podcast and the attention to detail that goes into each story. I would love to listen to the entire Bible like this (a Christian girl can dream). I downloaded the app to listen to some others and Joseph was just as good! I wasn’t able to listen to Judges only short previews of each chapter. I hope that more will be released on Podcasts soon!!!

Absolutely Incredible

I find it hard to put into words how the story of David impacted my relationship with the Bible. It gave life to the words and brought into focus other aspects that I had never thought about. From the screams of women in labor to the sounds of horses running to the clanging of swords and screams of men in battle, the sighs, the wind, hearing Davis singing Psalms. I could go on and on. I have listened to this series countless times. When I can’t sleep I put in my air buds and play it until I fall asleep. This is just astounding. I have shared it with so many people. Thank you for all of your work on this amazing project.

I cannot express how much I have enjoyed this series. I have studied King David many times and he is one of my favorite heroes. Having said that, I learned even more through this series. The episodes are so captivating and interesting and the icing on the cake is Pastor Evans summarizing the episode and applying it to everyday life. Accurate and beautifully written

I loved this series. There is obviously some embellishment involved in these story lines, but it should draw you to the Bible to read the story as it is written in the Bible. These depictions allow you to visualize the lives through story telling, which brings you to the land and the people in that day. I loved the way it was told, and look forward to other Heroes in the Bible.

I’m very excited to have the pray.com app! Heroes of the Bible by Dr. Tony Evans is a blessing! I’ve learned so much about David and the challenges the Lord GOD had him face. He overcame adversity, dealt with his fleshly desires, selfish persists, was leveled up spiritually, brought low (humbled) and remained a follower of God. This is a prelude to Jesus north. This series has been fruit for my soul and retained a lot of knowledge. The app itself cost for premium features but has plenty of features that are free. This series is a great one for anyone’s spiritual walk with God.

Highly Recommend These Vivid Stories That Draw You In

I came across this series randomly. I LOVE IT! I couldn’t stop listening. I went through the first four episodes in one morning. The characters come to life through the actor portrayals and voices. As the host, Dr. Tony Evan’s gives a short prelude before the episode. At the end of the episode he spends a few minutes recapping by highlighting significant acts, signs, character traits of leaders, how to please God, where they failed to walk with God, etc.. You will love this podcast! Share it with your family, young and old will find these stories captivating.

Fantastic storytelling and understanding

I started listening on the pray app but very quickly became frustrated having to wait till next Saturday for the next one. An excellent deep dive into the people of the Bible, but like listening to a Macie with all the sound effects! It’s just great.

I Love This Podcast

This is the first review I have ever made for any podcast. I can’t say enough about how much I have thoroughly enjoyed this podcast. Dr Tony Evans has done a remarkable job taking us through the life of David. While many stories about David have been taught in Church and throughout life, Dr Evans has done a phenomenal job of putting them all together to tell David’s story. I can’t wait to hear about other Heroes of the Bible from Dr Evans.

God’s character

I am grateful that Dr Tony Evans doesn’t just read or explain the characters. He managed to make the characters so real that you get to know their feelings on a more intimate level. I found myself crying and profoundly feeling God’s pain when the Jewish people wanted a worldly king instead of his Kingdom. The heaviness I felt made God more relational. It gives you a better appreciation of the verses in the Bible that you would normally minimize or dismiss. This podcast brings true depth and assimilation of the Word in your heart that burns for more knowledge of God’s character through all the details of the characters’ personalities. Then Dr Evans explains how it all points to Christ and the Holy Spirit.

Very enjoyable. For someone that is not currently catholic, who has been married to a catholic for 25 years, this pod cast is very enjoyable. I am trying to learn more about the faith and the symbolism that goes along with it. And would like to convert at some point.
