A riches-to-rags tale full of extravagant, lovable, somewhat unethical characters
Supermarket is an over-the-top comedy with a love of winsome but morally gray characters, from the fame machine of Hollywood to the transgressive everyday Joe. The humor is sharp and satirical but never serious, preferring to revel in the absurdly desperate, somehow relatable, and most of all extravagant side of Tinseltown’s elite. SUMMARY: A Hollywood hotshot named Carson Carson enters his hashtag “humble era” after a freakish sextape in combination with his ridiculous overspending habits land him in the proverbial doghouse . . . and at the doorstep of his disappointed parents, and his former employer, owner of Singh Singh supermarket. The problem is, this fallen star told all his former coworkers to eat his dust close to fifteen years ago when Hollywood called his name, in one glorious—now regretted—name-calling send off scene. And boy, did it make an impact! With his past and his coworkers against him, Carson Carson, soulless Hollywood brat, must get along or get out. And in process learn to use his Charisma, Uniqueness, Nerve and Talent both to keep his job, and for the greater good.

    Like a comedy show
This is not like other podcasts I’ve listened to. I feel like I’m listening to a comedy tv show. Great acting and outrageous situations. Love.

    Good but ughhh “gaslighting”
Maybe the repeated incorrect use of “gaslighting” is an intentional choice for the characters, but it feels less intentional when multiple characters use the word incorrectly. When that happens, it feels like the writer just doesn’t know what it means. But that’s just a bit of a pet peeve for me. Esp when it comes to words relating to psychology or disorders. Like when people say “omg I’m sooo OCD” lol. Ugh it’s the worst. Other than that, it’s a good show! Thanks for making it and for making it available to listen for free! ❤️❤️❤️
