    Homophobic
I listened to this show when it was live from the very first episode when OUAT premiered and liked it until I listened to the Ruby Slippers episode and realized the hosts are homophobic and I started noticing other inappropriate and offensive views. I started a rewatch of OUAT and decided to re- listen to the episodes after each episode. I’m appalled by a lot of the shaming and offensive language used by the hosts. It really turns me off from the show.

    The occult
They way they speak about Paganism and the occult is ignorant.

    Amazing for once fans!
I writing this 7 years after Once Upon a Time ended, but I needed to a review. I am currently watching OUaT with my family on Disney plus for the first time on Disney plus (I’m on season 5). When this show first came out, I was too young to watch it and fully comprehend it. But I am obsessed with the series now and everything about it!! And I love listening to this podcast after I watch the episodes! At first I was skeptical about it, because it wasn’t the producers/cast speaking, but after a few episodes in I was hooked. These friends are so fun to listen to! I laugh along with them at some of their jokes (between “squid ink” and the segways for thanking sponsors and “your questions are pointless”) and I can tell that these hosts are really good friends with each other. They do bring up really good theories and lots of great background information if you like to fully indulge yourself without every fact about the show like me. And they do provide spoilers at the end of the episode, which is very nice for those of us who don’t want to know the spoilers :) They also bring up really good points about Christianity and point out some similarities between OUaT and Bible references, which I appreciate. I am Christian as well and I really enjoy the biblical references. Thank you for that! This is a really great podcast for anyone who enjoys Once Upon a Time. They go through all 7 seasons, have both initial reactions and two hour long episodes in full detail of the episodes, and have several good discussions. I recommend you listen to it. You won’t regret it. Also—Jacquelyn, I am a huge Rumpelstiltskin fan and have shipped RumBelle since Skin Deep (which is my favorite episode). I always enjoy your Rumpel’s girl moments 😉)

    Love, love, love!
I know I am writing this several years after this podcast ended but this is an amazing podcast! I love how in-depth they go and it’s so much fun after watching an episode to see them debrief it!

Love this show, but justice for Hook!
This podcast is so much fun. I just finished it and I didn’t discover it until 5 years after the show’s cancellation. But it was fascinating to hear their theories as the show aired on ABC. Although I don’t agree with one of the host’s feelings on the Ruby Slippers episode, I thought that they expressed themselves respectfully until they said the word “normal”. And they are entitled to their opinion as much as anyone else. I’m also impressed that they kept this show going and long as the show did. I’m used to podcasts that take place after the show ends, so this was different. They tended to fixate too much on certain things, but I suppose that is the whole point, for me it was too much. Also, I love(d) Hook, and there was too much hate for Hook at times, so I didn’t care too much for that. But it didn’t bother me too much since my ultimate OUAT ship was endgame (#CaptSwan). Thanks so much guys! I don’t know if you even bother to look at reviews anymore, or if it even matters. But I wanted to share my feelings either way.

    Jiminy would never…be warned
The predictions and random thoughts are fun to listen to as a Once fan, but *yikes*…being 12 years ago is not long enough to excuse some of the truly heinous attitudes and language use, including a super off limits word for the cognitively disabled (which is what motivated this review), comments that seeing Ursula in this show would be gross because of her body size, and going off about the inappropriateness of Ruby’s shorts. Seriously, friends, those things were not acceptable in 2011 just as they are not cool today. I was there too, I remember! I can honor that there isn’t bad intent among the hosts, but it’s still not something I can listen to with a clean conscience.

I SERIOUSLY wish I knew about this during the show
As a fan of Once Upon a Time from my family watching Season 1, I saw it through until the end. And THEN, after the Season 7 finale, I discover this awesome podcast and laughing at everything from Daniel’s quoting lines in hilarious contexts to Jeremy’s reaction to blood magic and squid ink. My family stopped watching the show after Season 5 because it got too confusing and if I knew about this podcast then, I would have kept them watching because I like how Daniel, Jeremy, Erin, Jenny, and Heather go in depth with every episode and I actually picked some things up I didn’t even know in the show. On the bright side, I can also listen to the spoilers section from Hunter and Jacqueline without getting spoiled lol.

The best podcast ... not just the best OUAT podcast
This is my favorite podcast of all time! I found this group to be the most entertaining, most intelligent, most thorough, most professional podcasters out there. I am so sad for the show to end because the podcast has become a staple in my everyday life. Once I found it I went back and did a rewatch and listened from the beginning as well. I would encourage others to do the same. Thank you Daniel, Jeremy, Erin, Jaclyn, Hunter, and others for your many years of dedication to this show and to us your listeners.

    Worst Podcast
These people are idiots. The guys who runs this show should stop podcasting.

    I am both
I am both sad and happy to see this podcast end. Sad because the end of the podcast marks the end of OUAT. Happy because this podcast (while in general entertaining) was insufferable. From Daniel’s annoying voice (and his pronunciation of “emma” as “imma”, to the multiple times when one of the moderators was “being clever” and said remark fell super flat. The O V E R analytical approach that was taken to EVERY plot point, the entirely too long show notes...sigh. This podcast gave me opportunities to hear theories and gain insight into some things that I might have missed, but putting this show under a microscope and breaking it down to every sub-particle was truly annoying.

    Stop
I love this podcast but sometimes your guys take it to the next level with comparing the show to real life it’s annoying.

    Great podcast
I’m not into podcasts but I love this podcast! They go in depth and really help unfold confusing parts. How does this fit? Where does it fit? They do a great job and taking on similarities between this and different things that have already come out. (ie. ouatiw, Fantasia etc.) they do a good job giving credit to the people who give their own theories and the hosts incorporate that. Last thing I wanted to say is my favorite host is Erin (spelling?). She seems really cool to me.

    This is a fantastic podcast.
This podcast is a labor of love, Daniel, Jeremy, Erin, Jacquelyn, Hunter and Jenny pour their heart into this show and this podcast. It’s well produced and is a fantastic podcast about the TV show Once Upon a Time. As for all the one star reviews that just popped up because disgruntal fans can’t handle someone else’s opinion. Shame on you! Shame on you all! You all preach tolerance and acceptance for your beliefs and your life choices but lash out on anyone and everyone who’s beliefs don’t align with yours. In my opinion you are the most intolerable people on the planet. I heard Daniel’s statement and its was very respectful to the GLBT community. Where is your respect? So please don’t judge this podcast because of the reviews of a bunch of intolerant, hypocritical, childish, malcontents. Judge it on it’s 311 episodes of love and caring for the TV Show Once Upon a Time. What upsets me the most is I had to address these morons and now my review won’t be read on the show. Thanks!

    Past it's sell-by date.
I've listened to this podcast on and off for years, been impressed by their dedication to the podcast and the program, and annoyed by their aggressive Christian viewpoints. Still, they've really loved this show, and I do too, so that's kept me coming back. And it's that what is leading me to my one star review...these people don't enjoy the show anymore. Jeremy really hates it and can't really cover that up, and Daniel is enjoying hearing himself speak, making up stupid names and titles for different things in OUAT, and pushing for donations. Erin might like the show, but she doesn't get enough time to talk. I give them credit for trying to stick with their commitment to the podcast, but enough is enough.

    Amazing Podcast
I love this podcast and I'm so happy to have found it! Unfortunately I just recently discovered it (close to the end of season 6). But I'm glad to hear that they will be continuing the podcast through season 7s "reboot." If you love Once Upon a Time, then this podcast will heighten that love! I've gone back and listened to episodes from past seasons and it reminds me why I originally loved Once. They are amazing and the Christian values that are expressed throughout the podcast are a breath of fresh air! 10/10 would recommend.

    VERY IMPRESSIVE!
I love Once Upon A Time. I was looking for a podcast to add further insight into the show. This is the most comprehensive podcast with now over 300! podcasts on the show! Very well organized and put together. With lots of thoughts and detail on the show. They even have sound clips from the show which really adds to what's happening. The group on the podcast really mesh well together and sound very professional with clear pleasant voices. It's just very easy to listen to and enjoy. Thank you team for doing an outstanding job! Also check out their website. I highly recommend.

    Fantastic!
I realize we might be at the end of the series, however I did want to say that I absolutely love your podcasts and highly recommend them! I very much enjoy the fact that you guys not only recap the episodes, but you also do in depth research and delve into all theories (whether crack pot or not 😜). On a side note: as a fellow conservative Christian, I very much appreciate and applaud that Ephesians 4:15 is very much evident in this podcast, namely, truth in love. I can definitely tell it is well balanced. 👍👍 Fantastic job to the team and keep up the great work-even it ends after the "Final Battle" (*mic drop* 😜😜)!

One of the best podcasts around.
I mean that in every way! Once is an excellent podcast! They go into deep detail on every episode and do their best not to spoil anything about upcoming episodes. Personally, I enjoy spoilers, but that's why they have Hunter and Jacquelyn at the end of their Wednesday shows to spoil everything that's known about upcoming episodes of Once Upon A Time. Nonetheless, this is an excellent podcast and for anyone who is a fan of the show, check this podcast out! You will not be disappointed.

    Enjoyable, but personal beliefs surface
Overall, I do enjoy this Podcast. The discussions are brilliant, and help to understand the intricacies of the show. I really enjoy tying in the original stories, the fan theories and in depth discussion of character events and motivations. The one downside for me is occasionally, the hosts will bring their own personal, religious beliefs into the discussion. If this were a religious oriented show, that would be understandable. However, because this is a TV show on public TV, I feel religious talk should be kept out of it. Let's enjoy the story for what it is. Keep up the awesome discussions!

I used to really enjoy this podcast. However, in the last year I found the lead podcaster to become judgmental and preachy. I found I was only listening for the spoilers which I could find online.

    so disapointed
i used to like this podcast but i find that in recent episodes they are talking more and more about how the show does not fit there moral values is geting frustating if you are looking at a show to validate your moral then there might be a problem with you its called entertainment

    Best OUAT podcast
If you love Once Upon A Time you will love this podcast. They break down every episode of OUAT so well. The intial reactions are fun and the full episode discussions are very in depth. I don't always agree with their view points but I love all the information and theories. They even have spoilers, if you are into that sort of thing. They also have a great website with forums and the best timeline of OUAT events ever.

    Best out there!
Seriously the best podcast out there for any show. I actually enjoy listening to this group of friends discuss Once Upon A Time more than I like watching the show. They help me keep the timeline straight (the writers of the show may want to listen to this podcast for that reason alone!) I personally appreciate the family friendliness of the podcast and Daniel's christian beliefs and morals. Thank you for putting out a podcast that isn't full of swearing and questionable content. It's a pleasure to listen to!!
  • Halvor311
Pretty good, but they focus on the wrong things
I enjoy the fact that this podcast exists and I appreciate everything they are able to remind me of from the past, however, I feel like sometimes they focus on the wrong things. They seem to be looking for things wrong rather than enjoying what they get as it is. Also, I think initial reactions should be spared in favor of a main episode that goes over that one episode without getting redundant. Other than those flaws, the podcast goes deeply into the show and is definitely worth your time. I just wish they'd stop focusing so much on rules of magic and other things with continuity and just enjoy the show and talk about the themes of each episode. I go to a catholic school and this show practically resembles my fundamentals of theology class discussions about good and evil. Overall, an ok podcast.

Great analysis and fun predictions, but
I came late to the OUAT fandom. I circled back to season 1 and listened along and now skipped to the newest episodes to follow along with the newest season. I enjoy the analysis and predictions, but I have to say in the episode covering 6x01, I was put off by the inclusion of your perspectives on "morality" and how you criticized Hook and Emma for not being "heroes" and striving to "save it" for marriage. First I didn't even go there while I watched the episode in my mind. Second, I started listening to your podcast to hear analysis and predictions, not your personal religious and moral views. It was very off-putting. I sensed from the first season episodes that this podcast was very G rated, which is fine. Please try to keep your soap boxing to a minimum. It truly distracted me for the rest of the podcast.

    Awesome!!!!!!!!!!!!
This podcast is amazing!! I started watching Once Upon A Time about 4 years ago so I played catch-up on Netflix for the first two seasons! I can't wait for the podcast to come out after I've watched the episode! I look forward to hearing all the theories and comments that everyone has!! You guys are so funny and I enjoy listening to you!! Hope you keep it going for a long time!!!!!!

    Love is love.
I've been listening to once podcast since season one. I didn't mind the discussions of morals as it relates to the show but frankly I don't need to spend another minute listening to a host explaining his belief that homosexuality is a lifestyle choice. Love is love, folks. There is no need to "other" those who don't fit into your convention idea of what love should be. If I wanted to be othered by a white man, I'd watch Bill O'reilly. No thank you!

    Good For Oncers
I've been a fan of Once since just few episodes into the very 1st season, and I think I discovered this podcast either towards the end of said season or started listening regularly at the start of Season 2. Let me start off by saying, even though I am a straight Catholic, I WAS NOT offended by Daniel's comments during the "Ruby Slippers" full discussion. I can see why others were upset, and while I do think he was somewhat out of line, I still listen to Once, at least the initial reactions, regularly. While I do think the show has gone downhill since Season 3, these guys are still very devoted to show and will clearly be riding to the end. My only critique is, and this may be nitpicking, is how the co-hosts tend to speak of the writers and actors as if they know them. For some reason, when I hear them call the writers "Adam and Eddie", or Robert Carlyle, "Bobby", I get annoyed, lol. That being said, if you're a fan of the show, you will most likely enjoy this podcast.

    Great podcast
In light of the recent Ruby Slippers podcast episode, I'd like to say that I respect Daniel for voicing his personal views on LGBT based on his religious faith, and that despite I don't hold the same views as him, I'd like to thank him for discussing Ruby and Dorothy's relationship and romance in an objective sense and how it was a central part of the episode. I'm glad that the LGBT storyline didn't stop him from doing the podcast entirely because I think someone else less tolerant would have decided not to partake in it at all. Of course this is a topic that can get heated very quickly on both sides, and I don't know what's happened on Reddit and other social media where people say things have been said with Daniel bc I haven't read those conversations, but I honestly think if both sides want a civil and respectful discussion about the topic, we all should not attack one another personally or use inflammatory language because that doesn't help to make progress in a discussion. I enjoy this podcast very much, and Jeremy, Erin, Hunter and Jacqueline are an amazing team of podcasters along with Daniel. Again, despite that I don't agree with Daniel's religious views, I find myself hurt reading reviews calling him a homophobe because I like Daniel as a person and his contributions for the podcast. To me, a homophobe is someone who declares outright that they hate nonstraight people and are disgusted by those who are gay/lesbian/bisexual/transgendered. That's not what Daniel said on the podcast. He only stated that the episode conflicted with his personal religious views, but he never said he hated homosexuals.

    Best OUAT podcast
I love this podcast. I always look forward to them as soon as a new OUAT episode airs. The main portion of the podcast is spoiler-free, so if you avoid spoilers, you can stop before they discuss them. Jacquelyn is a Greek mythology expert, and she has made the Hades arc so much more enjoyable. Daniel and Jeremy always leave me laughing. This is a clean, family friendly podcast that you can listen to without worrying about the kids hearing something they shouldn't. Keep up the great work, Once Podcast!

    Witty, educational, squid ink
This podcast is awesome!! It is great how the hosts can intellectually get there points across while being super fans. I started listening to this podcast at the beginning of season 5 and I am currently watching the series from start to finish for the third time. Now that I know about the once pod. I've been listening to old episodes. It's fun to here y'alls predictions and how it's turned out. I recommend this podcast to anyone who watches OUAT. You all do a wonderful job! As always, I'll be listening for more.

    Disappointed
I’ve been listening to this podcast for years but I unsubscribed after the Ruby Slippers episode. The host has made it known what his religious view in previous episodes and I had no problem with it until this one. There are so many moral issues that have occurred on the show and yet they those choose to nitpick and focus on a same sex couple’s kiss. I respect people’s religious beliefs but after seeing the actions of the host I stopped supporting this podcast. I saw how the host responding to people critiquing him reddit and tried to make it look as though he was the one being discriminated against instead of the the opposite. Writers and producers of OUAT have made it known that they were going to be approaching an LGBTQ storyline and the hosts of this show knew far in advance that this was going to happen. The show is not catering to "the small portion of the viewers who have chosen a homosexual lifestyle” as the host said, it’s insulting to people of the LGBTQ community as well as the show runners, writers, and producers of OUAT to say so. They lost a long time listener and someone who was about to be a Pateron of the show.
  • CAK521
    So Disappointed
I had a longer review but iTunes did not submit it. In short, the choice for them to completely and purposefully ignore an LGBT storyline in this show not once, but twice is the last straw for me. I'm not sure if Daniel's beliefs hold true for everyone in this show, and I'm sorry if they do not, but I am done with this podcast. I used to look forward to this every week after the show, so this is a real shame. There are plenty of other non-biased OUAT podcasts out there that welcome any and all storylines with open arms. I'm sure ONCE has lost many listeners other than me recently.
  • renmiked
Two stars for the spoiler section, zero for the bigotry
I've been listening for about two years and enjoyed the general quality of the show and haven't really had an issue with the main host consistently mentioning his faith. The Ruby Slippers episode, however, began with a hate-filled monologue with no rebuttal from any other hosts. It was cowardly and disrespectful to the listeners and other hosts. This "award winning podcaster" could use a lesson class. I really enjoy the other folks on the show and the work they do but cannot support the show any longer.
  • dutchofclass
    Extremely disappointing
This would be a 4-star podcast if not for the handling of story elements which conflict with their religious beliefs. The full recap for Ruby Slippers starts with a statement from Daniel objecting to the inclusion of a gay couple. I waited a week to write this review because I wanted to be respectful, but even a week later I find I'm still left with very little to say outside of those angry thoughts. I say this as a straight Christian, which I almost hate to say in this case because the things I believe clearly do not align with those of the hosts. Saying I'm a straight Christian is never something I thought would be included as remotely relevant in the review of a podcast for a television show about fairy tales and magic, but it seems to be a disappointing reality here.
  • Phoenix-Force
    Really sad about this
I had a feeling about the host’s beliefs, but he recently made them loud and clear. The host is very homophobic I can't listen to a podcast that cannot do its job, when it protests (or just ignores) an LGBT character.
  • Kelsey Hunt
Used to be 5 stars, now zero (or one, since I can't say zero!)
The hosts hate gay people based on their "religious beliefs" and in light of the new Ruby/Dorothy romance, basically said that we should respect ALL people, even if their opinions don't match our own. I knew this was a preface for Daniel's bigotry spiel on how Jesus and God are the only ones who can judge, blah blah blah.... Bigotry and hatred was not in the bible, and yet here you all are. I'm a gay Christian woman and hearing this crap coming from other "Christians" makes me sick to my stomach. I really hope that Erin isn't like this, she was my favorite. Anyway, I'm not going to be listening any longer. I hope you choose to do the same.

I love this podcast. I eagerly wait for each episode. Once Upon a Time is the best show on air, and listening to the podcast each week just adds to the enjoyment.. I listen to other podcast about OUAT and enjoy them also, but this show is by far the best of them all.

    Simply the best!
Once I got addicted to Once Upon a Time, I decided I wanted to hear what other people thought about it too as they will often point out things you might have missed. I subscribed to four different podcasts including this one and listened to an episode from each show. ONCE podcast was the only OUAT podcast that I listened to more than once. In fact, after listening to all of their discussions on the current season, I intend to re-watch OUAT and listen to their podcast from the beginning as I do so. Their podcast is informative, insightful and just the right amount of humour. Plus Daniel J Lewis has a voice that is perfect for radio. It kind of reminds me of the way someone like Ira Glass(from This American Life) speaks. Where his voice alone pulls you in and makes you want to hear what he has to say from the second he opens his mouth. Not that the others(Jeremy and Erin, I believe) don't sound good as well. Their voices work well with his and all three seem to have great chemistry. In closing, if you can only listen to one podcast about Once Upon a Time, you should be listening to ONCE podcast. UPDATE: I've fallen behind on OUAT but after each episode I find myself wanting to hear what they were thinking when the ep came out. It's a constant battle in my head: listen to the podcast or watch the next episode. At least 1/2 the time, the former wins. Also, I really love it when Erin compares the show to Buffy. She often apologises for bringing up the similarities but it's my opinion that she has nothing to apologise for as the comparisons work well for the two shows.

    One of My Favorite Podcasts!
I've listened to a few TV show podcasts, but none have ever been as well-done and organized as this one! I always love that you guys post two episodes per season, one for initial reactions and another that goes in-depth and also interacts with the fandom and their theories and comments. OUAT can sometimes be a frustrating show, and this podcast helps me figure out some of the more confusing aspects of the writing. Hearing you guys talk about the inconsistencies, plotholes, and writing issues (squid ink!) is super cathartic as well. You guys are the best!
  • TBBucsGirl4life
    Squid Ink!!!
I have to admit I wish I knew about this podcast sooner than before Broken Heart. I usually watch the show without hesitating to think of the actions that occur in the episode and how it holds up in relation to previous episodes and seasons. I love that this podcast not only evaluates the episode as a whole but across what we have from previous seasons. The loop holes that are pointed out in each episode really do make me wonder and make me go back and rewatch the episodes! I appreciate their theories and love the mention of squid ink when all else fails! I have shared this podcast with a friend of mine and will continue to listen from here on out.

    Don't PreachTo Me, Include Me.
I've listened to the last episode of this podcast today. I reached the episode where Daniel and Jeremy start "whitesplaining" how the lack of minorities isn't an issue. Daniel used the opportunity to once again compare it to his own religious beliefs. In his eyes racism wasn't the issue, instead he explained that everyone is an atheist on televsion (not the case, at least in America). Jeremy in specific gave a long talk about how minorities wanting to see a diverse cast represented on the show should just be happy when they're even considered for a role. He went on to defend the all white main character casting and suggested that anyone who noticed this was the one guilty of racism. Daniel uses this show to make constant comparisons of plot points to his own Christian views. Plot points that don't agree with Christianity are ignored (for example an LGBT storyline), while those that do agree are constantly used as a comparison with the Bible. The host confirmed that he "leaks" his religious views into any discussion and believes that everyone else does the same. However I listen to a few dozen podcasts and this is the only one that seems to do this at all and certainly the only one that does it with such frequency and with no attempt to discuss other different views or beliefs. I realize that a majority of people do recognize as Christian in America and if you do this might be exactly what you're looking for. As someone who is in the minority of religious views it's sad to see a podcast about a great TV show used to be preached at. Personally I would rather the discussion either avoided the topic as other podcasts and other forms of media do, or allow for a more rounded perspective. Daniel clearly understands and has even complained about how it feels to be excluded by his religious views, it's a shame he's passing that exclusion along to those of us in the minority. Please don't preach at me, include me in the discussion for a show we all love. There are some good points to the podcast and it's a shame. Despite allowing religion to creep in to decide what storylines can be discussed and how those storylines are viewed the group at times does a wonderful job of noticing many things that might slip by the casual (or even the obsessive) observer. Most of the rest of the group do an excellent job keeping to the show and the discussions they've shared will be missed. I especially appreciated the work of Jacquelyn and Hunter! In the mean time I'll be subscribing to one of the many other OUAT podcasts!

    Two Great Hosts
I've had a up and down relationship with OUAT the TV show (lots of down lately unfortunately), but I always love listening to Daniel and Jeremy especially when they bring in morals and Christianity which is a perspective I rarely hear on a TV podcast. I appreciate you.
